Their record in England, where they have never won, does not inspire confidence, although the Portuguese side can take heart from their impressive recent form in the group stage. Previous meetings • The teams were paired together for the only time in the 2011/12 UEFA Europa League round of 32, a City team coached by Roberto Mancini running out comfortable winners against Vítor Pereira's Porto. Sergio Agüero got a late winner in City's 2-1 comeback victory at the Estádio do Dragão in the first leg, and the Argentinian was also on target in City's 4-0 home win, scoring a first-minute opener. Form guide Manchester City • City finished second in the 2019/20 Premier League, finishing the season 18 points behind Liverpool having won the title in each of the two previous campaigns. • Guardiola's side bowed out of the UEFA Champions League at the quarter-final stage for the third season running, going down 3-1 against Lyon in their one-off tie in Lisbon. • City had finished first in their group with 14 points (W4 D2) before seeing off Real Madrid in the last 16, winning 2-1 away and at home against the 13-time European champions. • This is the Cityzens' tenth UEFA Champions League campaign; they have been involved in the group stage every season since 2011/12 and have reached the round of 16 in seven successive campaigns. • City have scored 35 goals in their last 13 UEFA Champions League matches; over the last two seasons their record is W13 D3 L3 with 51 goals scored and 21 conceded.

Bayesian methods are also used in this research field, but the association between these two is being developed. The aim of this paper is to present new mathematical concepts that are based on information and probability theory and can be applied to network analysis in Team Sports. These results are based on the transition matrices of the Markov chain, associated with the adjacency matrices of a network with n nodes and allowing for a more robust analysis of the variability of interactions in team sports. The proposed models refer to individual and collective rates and indexes of total variability between players and teams as well as the overall passing capacity of a network, all of which are demonstrated in the UEFA 2020/2021 Champions League Final.
