Royal Durbar Dinner at Laxmi Niwas Palace Mahaveer Swami (1959) is a national award-winning artist from Bikaner who hails from a long lineage of miniaturist painters. After studying with his father and grandfather he was trained by legendary maestro late Vedpal Sharma ‘Bannu’ of .

Mahaveer Swami was awarded the Master Craftsman Award from the President of in 1986 and has since exhibited his work in over 50 galleries all over the world. His work can be found in the permanent collection of over 17 museums and galleries in India and internationally in Jerusalem, Berlin, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (USA), Camden, Maine (USA), New York, Paris, Belgium and Algeria.

He has received more than 10 major awards for his craft which is credited with reviving the original sophistication and refinement of the Bikaner school of painting. DAY 2

Our fecund and majestic Rathi cows, favourites of both the King and the Lord are stabled in a specially designed castiron manger in the front portico. Here, the entertainment specifically curated for our guests is a mellifluous feast for the senses.

Royal Durbar Dinner at Laxmi Niwas Palace Bikaner’s history dates back to 1488 when a young princeling from the dynasty broke away from his family’s ancient legacy and sought to establish his own lineage. The site he chose was rather peculiarly called ‘Jungladesh’ and was an uncontested barren outcrop of land.

Bikaner as a dynamic and selfmotivated kingdom set out to prove itself. Through the centuries the city-state grew to evolve into a poster- child of competence and able governance through the agency of some exceptional and their ministers who advanced an idea of welfare and development that was notable for its time. DAY 2

Indian Estate Coffees and Teas lend immediate familiarity, as do Cold Press Coffee Towers and deeply decadent Hot Chocolate. This is a space that is at once familiar and agreeable and is intended to invoke happy memories for them, for us, and you! DAY 3
