Calling upon an exquisite culinary heritage her re-rendered accomplished ‘Table’ features menu items meticulously singled out from the annals of history that were the once upon a time favorites of the Royals of Bikaner. On full moon nights when the firmament is aglow with the light of the moon and the dazzling trajectories of shooting stars, a resplendent dinner is served to you in the entirely charming Darbari.
In keeping with traditional banqueting from this Rajput desert kingdom, subtle delicacies and fiery flavours are intended to excite the palate as you dine a la deux or in company under a natural, unrivalled canopy lit by white blinking lights; a feast for Kings. DAY 2

Royal Durbar Dinner at Laxmi Niwas Palace Mahaveer Swami (1959) is a national award-winning artist from Bikaner who hails from a long lineage of miniaturist painters. After studying with his father and grandfather he was trained by legendary maestro late Vedpal Sharma ‘Bannu’ of Jaipur.
Mahaveer Swami was awarded the Master Craftsman Award from the President of India in 1986 and has since exhibited his work in over 50 galleries all over the world. His work can be found in the permanent collection of over 17 museums and galleries in India and internationally in Jerusalem, Berlin, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (USA), Camden, Maine (USA), New York, Paris, Belgium and Algeria.
He has received more than 10 major awards for his craft which is credited with reviving the original sophistication and refinement of the Bikaner school of painting. DAY 2

Our fecund and majestic Rathi cows, favourites of both the King and the Lord are stabled in a specially designed castiron manger in the front portico. Here, the entertainment specifically curated for our guests is a mellifluous feast for the senses.

Royal Durbar Dinner at Laxmi Niwas Palace Bikaner’s history dates back to 1488 when a young princeling from the Jodhpur dynasty broke away from his family’s ancient legacy and sought to establish his own lineage. The site he chose was rather peculiarly called ‘Jungladesh’ and was an uncontested barren outcrop of land.
Bikaner as a dynamic and selfmotivated kingdom set out to prove itself. Through the centuries the city-state grew to evolve into a poster- child of competence and able governance through the agency of some exceptional Maharajas and their ministers who advanced an idea of welfare and development that was notable for its time. DAY 2

Royal Durbar Dinner at Laxmi Niwas Palace The Laxmi Niwas Palace, a sister hotel to Narendra Bhawan, has been the pride of Bikaner since its construction in 1902 and has attracted celebrities and royalty from around the world to partake of it’s grand hospitality. The palace has hosted dignitaries including King George V and Queen Mary, the King of Greece, Viceroys, Maharajas and renowned statesmen. We invite you to share a part of this august legacy and dine on the traditional fare of the Royal Durbar. DAY 3

“The Bikaner of my ancestors thrived due to its prime location along the caravan routes between Western and Central Asia. Enriched by this bountiful trade the nobles and the merchants of Bikaner built palaces, havelis and temples in red sandstone that stand pristine to date.”

Indian Estate Coffees and Teas lend immediate familiarity, as do Cold Press Coffee Towers and deeply decadent Hot Chocolate. This is a space that is at once familiar and agreeable and is intended to invoke happy memories for them, for us, and you! DAY 3
