The finding aid lists the contents of 48 containers. The material is organized in both the containers and finding aid into one of five categories: black and white negatives, 1972 Summit Series, Colour negatives, Prints, and Textual material. Spelling in the titles reflects the information provided on the original envelopes, including short abbreviations used by Lennon. Containers 1- 24: Black and White negatives (mostly Toronto Star assignments), which are organized chronologically (pre 1960, 1960, 1961, etc. ending with undated material). The material is organized by month, but not day. Therefore, the file for Jun-Aug 1970 will simply have all the identified b&w assignments for that time period in one file, but will in itself not be organized chronologically. The negatives are housed in accordion files, with the original envelopes stored in a folder file directly behind. The original envelopes contain any contact print and assignment information that was found. This will allow for a quick reference between the negatives and the supporting material. Containers 25-28 & 44: Colour negatives and prints. Same format as above. Containers 29, 30 & 41: Material relating to Summit Series 1972. This was organized separately to allow for quick access to Summit Series material, as this was an area identified as possibly having a higher research demand. Container 30 will need to be consulted under the supervision of an archivist due to the nature of its contents. There may also be material relating to 1972 Summit Series in the other containers as well, and any researcher interested in Summit Series material should not assume the material only resides in these volumes, but the large majority of it is concentrated in these containers. Containers 31-40 : B&W Prints. These are organized chronologically, when a date was provided. The dates and any other title information that was provided was recorded in the finding aid. The dates on the prints may not reflect the date the photograph was taken, but rather the date in which the image was printed. Containers 42-43: Textual.
