Mr. LI Yong, Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)

Mr. LI Yong, Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), has had an extensive career as a senior economic and financial policy-maker. As Vice- Minister of Finance of the People’s Republic of China and member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank for a decade, Mr. LI was involved in setting and harmonizing fiscal, monetary and industrial policies, and in supporting sound economic growth in China. He pushed forward financial sector reform, and prompted major financial institutions to establish corporate governance, deal with toxic assets and strengthen risk management. Mr. LI Yong gave great importance to fiscal and financial measures in favor of agricultural development and SMEs, the cornerstones for creating economic opportunities, reducing poverty and promoting gender equality. He played a key role in China’s cooperation with multilateral development organizations, such as the World Bank Group and the Asian Development Bank. Mr. Yuri Fedotov, Director-General, United Nations Office in Vienna (UNOV)

Mr. Yury Fedotov was appointed in 2010 as Director-General of the United Nations Office in Vienna (UNOV) and as the Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). In his role as Director-General of UNOV, Mr. Fedotov is the top-ranking official of one of the four main duty stations of the United Nations and oversees important representation and liaison work with permanent missions to the UN Office in Vienna, the Austrian Government, and various intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations. As UNODC Executive Director, he represents the agency at the Global Migration Group and is the Co-chair of the UN Task Force on Transnational Organized Crime and Drug Trafficking. In this position he has encouraged countering drug trafficking based on building regional initiatives and providing technical assistance, while also promoting a balanced approach to solving drug demand. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Fedotov served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Court of St. James's in London and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation for International Organizations.

H.E. Ms. Maria de Jesus dos Reis Ferreira, Ambassador of the Republic of Angola in Austria, Croatia, Slovenia and Slovakia, Permanent Representative of Angola to the International Organizations in Vienna, and Chairperson of the African Group Vienna

During her career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ms. de Jesus dos Reis Ferreira served in various capacities, among them: Consul General in Porto, for Central and Northern Portugal (2004); Directress for Africa and Middle East (2002-2004); (Minister Counsellor) Directress for Africa and Far East (2000-2002); Counsellor of the Division for International Organizations as well as Chief of Dept. a.i. for specialized agencies of the UN (1994-2000); First Secretary at the Embassy in Zimbabwe (1990-1994) and Second Secretary at the Permanent Mission to the International Organizations in New York (1986 - 1989). Ms. de Jesus dos Reis Ferreira holds a Master's degree in Law from the Catholic University of Porto and a Degree of Licentiate in Legal-Economics Law from the Lusophone University of Humanities and Technology of Lisbon. She speaks English, French and Spanish. Mr. , Journalist, Television Network (KTN)

Mr. Jeff Koinange is a Kenyan journalist and has been the most of the talk show Jeff Koinange Live on (KTN) since October 2013. He previously served as the Africa correspondent for CNN and CNN International from 2001 to 2007, and later as chief reporter at TV station K24 from 2007 to December 2012. Before joining KTN, he served as the Chief Anchor, Africa for Arise Television Ltd based in Johannesburg. He attended Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn, NY from 1987–1989 and graduated with an associate degree. He also received a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast from .

Mr. Stéphane Akaya, Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister of Togo

Stéphane Akaya is a highly regarded economist, advisor and consultant in development policies in Togo and throughout the ECOWAS countries of West Africa. Mr. Akaya is currently the Counselor for Economic and Financial Affairs of the Prime Minister of the Togolese Republic. He served as a policy advisor to the government of Togo and was appointed Deputy Technical Secretary of project ‘Vision Togo 2030’. Mr. Akaya is Technical Assistant of the African Development Bank for the establishment of the National Prospective part in Togo with the Ministry responsible for forecasting and evaluating public policies. Mr. Akaya has published reports on public policy and strategy, investment opportunities and market niches for the Togolese Diaspora, and globalization and fair trade from an African perspective. Mr. Akaya is currently working on a thesis topic entitled "What are the structural determinants of the success of competitiveness clusters in West Africa?” Mr. Akaya has a Master of Economics degree from the University of Lomé, Togo, a Master of Project Management from the African Institute of Management and Business Studies (IAEC), and a Graduate in Business Management from l’Institut Marie Thérèse Solacroup in France.

Ms. Ndidi Okonkwo Nwuneli, Founder of LEAP Africa, Co-Founder of AACE Food Processing & Distribution, Partner at Sahel Capital

Ndidi Nwuneli is the Founder of LEAP Africa, a leading youth leadership nonprofit organization, and co-Founder of AACE Food Processing & Distribution, an indigenous agroprocessing company that was founded in 2009 to fight malnutrition, reduce post- harvest losses among smallholder farmers and displace imports. She is also the managing partner of Sahel Consulting, a firm focused on the agribusiness and nutrition sectors in West Africa. She started her career as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company, working in their Chicago, New York and Johannesburg Offices. Ndidi holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and an undergraduate degree with honors in Multinational and Strategic Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Ndidi was recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and received a National Honor – Member of the Federal Republic from the Nigerian Government. She was listed as one of the 20 Youngest Power African Women by Forbes. Ndidi is the author of “Social Innovation in Africa: A Practical Guide for Scaling Impact," published by Routledge in 2016. Mr. Patrick Osakwe, Head of the Trade and Poverty Branch, UNCTAD

Mr. Patrick Osakwe holds a PhD degree in Economics from Queen’s University, Canada. He is currently Head of the Trade and Poverty Branch (UN Director Level) at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development based in Geneva, Switzerland. He has also served as Chief of the Finance, Industry and Investment Section at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Before joining the United Nations, he worked as a Senior Analyst at the Bank of Canada, Ottawa. Dr. Osakwe has done extensive research in international and development economics and has refereed publications in major economic journals and books. He has won several academic awards, prizes, and fellowships. He is a valedictorian, a fellow of the Cambridge Commonwealth Society, and a member of the editorial board of the journal "International Development Policy" published by the Graduate Institute, Geneva.

Mr. Bernardo Calzadilla-Sarmiento, Director of the Department of Trade, Investment, and Innovation, UNIDO

Mr. Calzadilla is the Director of the Department of Trade, Investment, and Innovation at UNIDO. He is the former UNIDO Deputy Representative to the United Nations and other International Organizations at the UNIDO office in Geneva. Mr. Calzadilla was the Director for the Technical Assistance and Training Services at the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). He started his career as a coordinator of development strategies at the Ministry of Planning in La Paz, Bolivia. Born in Bolivia, Mr. Calzadilla holds a Master Degree in industrial and process organization and a Ph.D. in economics, from the University of Business Management and Economics of Vienna (Austria).

Mr. Soteri Gatera, Chief, Industrialization and Infrastructure Section Regional Integration and Trade Division, UNECA

Mr. Soteri Gatera, is the Chief of the Industrialisation and Infrastructure Section within the Regional Integration and Trade Division at ECA. Formerly Head of Infrastructure and Natural Resources Development and Management at ECA sub-rehional office for Eastern Africa. Worked as Director General of Rwanda's Road Fund and Highway Administration from May 2000 to May 2010. Before then I was a lecturer at The University of Dar- es Salaam, Ardhi College of Architectural Studies and Land Management from 1985 to 1997. Between 1997 and 2000 I was Country Advisor to Lutheran World Federation for their Emergency and Rehabilitation Program in Rwanda. Soteri Gatera hold both an MBA in Public Sector Reforms from Maaarscht School in the Nethetland and M.Sc. in Structural Engineering from University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Mr. Mamadou Niane, Co-Founder and Associate Director of Afrimalin

Mr. Mamadou Niane is a highly experienced e-commerce and marketing specialist. With 8 years of experience he is a rising talent within the digital economy and is renowned for his strong entrepreneurial flair. He has held senior positions with the likes of Alcatel-Lucent Huawei and Europcar. Between 2014 and 2016 he managed the deployment of Kaymu (Jumia Group) - the first marketplace in Senegal. He is the co-founder of Afrimalin an online classifieds website operating in 8 countries in francophone Africa: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, DRC, Cote d’Ivoire, Mali, Republic of Guinea and Senegal. Afrimalin was named one the 100 most promising startup in Africa.

Ms. Anabela Dinis, Assistant Professor, University of Beira Interior, Portugal

Ms. Anabela Dinis has a PhD in Management (through the European Doctoral Programme in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management held at the University of Barcelona- Spain- and Vaxjö University - Sweden). She is currently the Assistant Professor at University of Beira Interior (UBI) and researcher of NECE – Business Research Center (Portugal). Her main areas of research are "Entrepreneurship and regional/rural development", “Social entrepreneurship” and “Entrepreneurship education”. She has published in international journals and invited to participate as speaker in national and international conferences. She worked as international consultant of UNIDO for the realization of the Entrepreneurship Curriculum Impact Study in both Mozambique and Cabo Verde. Her work at UBI includes the creation and reconfiguration of several post-graduate studies in the area of management and entrepreneurship and their coordination. Currently holds the position of pro-rector for social responsibility at the University of Beira Interior.
