DELHI - NEEMRANA FORT – - - Day 1 – Airport Pickup - Driver with Name sign. Delhi Tour - You start at the historic Qutub Minar 72 meters high and one off the most perfect towers in the Persian world, the iron pillar has survived the vagaries of weather for over 1500 years. Then on to Humuyun Tomb (1586) designed by Mirak Mirza Ghiyath, a Persian architect, it was the first garden-tomb on the Indian subcontinent, next the (1639-1648) that was built by Shah Jehan the builder of & then onto the Raj Ghat on the banks of the Yamuna river, the cremation point and memorial for Mahatma Gandhi– passing through the nationally significant Gate, (42 meters high and completed in 1921 as a monument to almost 100,000 Indian soldiers lost in WW1) on the way to Rashtpati Bhawan, Parliament Street. Overnight @ Shanti Home Day 2 - Drive to Neemrana Fort Palace – Breakfast at leisure then an onward journey of 120 klms to the absolutely stunning Neemrana Fort Palace – where you spend a luxurious night Day 3 - After a relaxing start at the forte (with a swim or maybe a wire line run) you have a 200 klm drive to Jaipur. Spend the afternoon exploring Jaipur first seeing Jantar Mantar, an observatory equipped with instruments of astonishing size and precision, including a 90 foot high sun dial, next onto the Hawa Mahal or palace of winds, a major landmark built in 1799. This five-story building in the old city is a pink sandstone master piece with semi octagonal and delicately honeycombed windows. The monument was originally conceived to enable ladies of the royal household to watch the city’s everyday life and royal procession in absolute privacy. The City Palace is the royal residence of the erstwhile King of Jaipur. It houses a museum with a superb collection of Rajasthani costumes, armory of Mughal and Rajput weaponry. Overnight in Jaipur’s Alsisar Havelli, a lovely old family ‘mansion’ that has been beautifully restored. Day 4 – This morning’s excursion takes you to the amazing Amber Fort, you approach the palace in the traditional way riding up to the gates on elegantly caparisoned elephants. Amber was once the ancient capital of Jaipur with Construction started in 1592 by Raja Man Singh, the Rajput Commander of ’s Army. The fort is a superb example of Rajput Architecture, stunningly situated on a hillside and overlooking a lake which reflects its terraces and ramparts. Lunch in the city and then maybe amble around the old city markets for some local colour and curios, in the afternoon head out to Dera Amer for a unique elephant experience with a sunset ride in the forest and dinner alfresco at the old fort. Optional elephant polo also available for groups ! Overnight in Jaipur’s Alsisar Havelli Day 5 – A leisurely start and free morning in Jaipur to explore the old city then after lunch the drive of 195 klms to Fatehpur Sikri This abandoned capital of the Mughals is a perfectly preserved city built at the height of the empire’s splendor. The city was divided into religious and secular parts and has interesting well sculptured buildings. Onward drive of 45 lkms to Agra for an overnight stay at the charming Grand Imperial Hotel Agra, wonderfully set up to receive you with a pool, spa and nice in house restaurant.

Day 6 - Sunrise (with Guide) to the Taj Mahal – a dawn visit to the fabled Taj Mahal to witness the magical effects caused by the reflections of the changing colours of the rising sun on this brilliant white marble testament to the love of Shah Jehan for his wife Mountab. After breakfast you move on to the Agra Fort (with Guide) these elegant buildings reflect an interesting synthesis of Hindu and Central Asian architectural styles. Built by Emperor Akbar, the maze of the courtyards, mosques & private chambers of the fort echo the story of the . The & other magnificent buildings reflect the amazing skill of the ancient Indian architects. Drive the 200 klms to Delhi Airport for flight home.
