M. Kim CV 5 Moon Kim [email protected]

Bio As the acquisitions librarian at Ohio State University Libraries, Moon Kim develops efficient and effective practices to support the evolving environment of collection development and acquisitions. Moon leads the business processes for acquiring library resources for general collections, international studies, and special collections. She previously held acquisitions positions at the California State University Fullerton, University of Washington, and the Getty Research Institute. Moon holds a Master of Library and Information Science, Graduate Certificate in Digital Humanities, and BA in Greek and Latin, all from UCLA.

Statement of Interest I am honored to be nominated for a NASIG Member at Large position. I first became a member of NASIG when I applied for and was awarded the First-Timer Award to attend the 2017 annual conference in Indianapolis. Since the award, I have become a lifetime member and have increased my engagement with the NASIG community by serving on the following committees: • Awards and Recognition Committee o Member (2017/2018-2018/2019) • Equity & Inclusion Committee o Member (2018/2019-2021/2022)

My simultaneous participation in the Awards and Recognition and Equity and Inclusion committees during the 2018-2019 cycle was an especially rewarding experience as it allowed me to coordinate with both groups to help establish the Diversity and Inclusion Award for marginalized populations. In 2019, the first year there was an honoree for the Diversity & Inclusion Award, it was gratifying to be able to assist the Chair of Awards and Recognition Committee to pass out the awards to all the recipients.

As a lifetime member, I have committed to upholding NASIG’s vision and mission through my professional activities both inside and outside of NASIG on topics ranging from ILS migrations to building diverse collections. As a Member at Large, I am interested in representing the diverse perspectives of the general membership, and working with the NASIG Executive Board to expand NASIG’s strategic activities with a special focus on advancing the values of equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility, and social justice.
