The Stephens College Library has an opening for a full-time Instruction Librarian to start in August 2021. The person in this position will be responsible for the delivery, design, and assessment of library instruction sessions across campus and online, as well as assisting students, faculty, and staff in locating and making effective use of library and other research resources. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.

Responsibilities: ● Provide library instruction, tours, orientation sessions, and training in specific resources and/or disciplines to groups and individuals. These may be face-to- face or online. ● Provide research assistance to Stephens’ students, faculty, and staff through both face-to-face and online sessions. ● Design, create, and maintain online learning resources and tutorials using current and emerging educational technologies. ● Assist with library , including participation in the library’s ongoing discarding project. ● Assist students and faculty with research databases and software, web searching, citation styles, and computer applications as necessary to meet information needs. ● Assist with marketing the library and its resources and promoting student engagement with the library. ● As we are a small library with a small staff, contribute and assist with routine library tasks such as circulating books and audiovisual equipment, processing MOBIUS requests and shipments, copy cataloging, interlibrary loan, and other duties as needed. ● Maintain awareness of current trends in the library profession and participate in professional development activities. ● Work effectively with diverse populations. ● Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. ● Assumes other responsibilities and/or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications: ● Master’s Degree in Library/Information Science (or its equivalent) from an ALA- accredited institution. Recent graduates are welcome to apply. ● Teaching experience preferred. ● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a patron-focused philosophy.
