Epilepsy Association of South Australia and the Northern Territory Inc. Bosses Day Out 2017 Marketing Report

Over the past twelve months, the focus of the of the Marketing and Communications sub-committee has been on growing the profile of EASANT and increasing the awareness of the services provided by EASANT.

We held a number of events for fundraising purposes to generate revenue to provide services to South Australians and those in the Northern Territory that are living with epilepsy. Our most successful event this year was the Bosses Day Out, which was held at Adelaide Oval. We had 421 guests at the event and over $52,000 was raised for EASANT.

This year we took a different approach to our Purple Day event, which is our major event for engaging with families living with epilepsy. We held an event indoors at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, which was really well attended by families all wearing purple. This was a great way for children living with epilepsy to participate in a number of fun activities and avoid the March heatwave. These activities included rock climbing, snake handling and rolling around in Zorb balls. It was incredible to see so many children and parents having such a great time and getting involved in so many diverse activities.

We also had a number of sponsors and supporters this year to build upon the great work of other organisations and opportunities for fundraising. We would like to thank the following partners for their generous support; Adelaide BMW, Adelaide Dial A Car, Adelaide Football Club, Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Adelaide Ferrari, Adelaide Oval, Ayers House, Boileau, Bunnings Warehouse Prospect, Crows Children Foundation, FiveAA, Go Get Em Fishing, Hong Kong Business Association of South Australia, Invogue Limousines, Kalou Models, Kirin, Liverpool Football Club, Lion, Mitsubishi Electric, Mueller Air Conditioning, Multi Channel Network, National Australia Bank, Penny’s Hill, Port Adelaide Football Club, Pro Paint ‘n Panel, Smith Brothers Group, The Black Chook, Wynns and Zonte's Footstep.

We are extremely grateful for the support of our partners, sponsors and guests, as their contributions ensure that we manage successful and sustainable events. This year EASANT further enhanced our online presence by increasing engagement with our website and social media initiatives. Our website is generating an average of $5,185 in revenue per month, with over $62,200 for the year.

Our Facebook community continues to evolve and is extremely important for building a strong connection with families living with epilepsy. We had 14,569 page likes for the year as at 30 June and regularly receive over 200 likes per month. We also had high levels of engagement on Instagram with 5,055 followers and 4,239 followers on Twitter as at 30 June 2017.

It has been an extremely successful year for EASANT. We thank all the volunteers that have assisted with marketing activities throughout the year and the continued efforts of our staff.
