English 11 Honors Mr. Moore BOOK REVIEWS: In order to attain honors designation, students will need to choose and read four additional works of American literature and write a one-paragraph, seven-to-twelve-sentence critical book review covering each work. This is not a book report. It is a critical book review. The critical review must be written following the guidelines in section 58 in the Handbook of Grammar and Composition. The final report must be typed and double-spaced. Mr. Moore will not accept emailed work. Students should submit the final draft only. Students who have not completed the honors reviews by the beginning of class on the due dates will be given a zero for the assignment. All honors book reviews must include a signed copy of the CCS Honesty Statement. All honors assignments must be completed to receive credit for Honors English 10.

Students must choose one book from each category but may read the books in any order they wish. Students may submit early honors reviews at any time during the school year but must submit at least one review by each deadline. Mr. Moore will give deadlines during the first week of each quarter.
