 Since the NBA introduced the 24-second clock in 1954, that's the fewest points that any team has scored in the first quarter of its season opener, played at home. The previous record was held by the Celtics, who were held to 12 points by Chicago in their season opener, played in Boston, on Halloween night in 1997. (Elias Sports Bureau)  The 10 points allowed in the opening period was their lowest since April 12, 2009 when the Cavs gave up just nine points to the Boston Celtics in the first quarter of play.  Cleveland also went on to beat the Grizzlies by 30 points that night, which was their third road win by at least 30 points since February 20, 2015. Since then, the rest of the NBA has had just three total road wins by at least 30 points. Prior to February 20, 2015, the Cavs had just two 30-point road wins in their entire franchise history.
