Ms. Christina Howe Valhalla is a hamlet in the town of Mt. Pleasant, Westchester County, Acting Superintendent . Located 20 miles north of , Valhalla is a residential community. The Valhalla School District includes parts of the Mr. Jon Hirsch towns of Mt. Pleasant, North Castle, and Greenburgh with a total High School Principal population of about 9,000 people. COUNSELING AND Valhalla High School serves grades 9-12 with a total enrollment of 433 DEVELOPMENT students with a senior class of 105 students. There are 70 members of the professional staff: ninety percent have advanced degrees. The faculty is Meghan Jacobsen actively involved in the development and refinement of instructional Director of Guidance programs. [email protected] GRADING AND WEIGHTING SYSTEM Russell Stevens School Counselor Student numerical grades are assigned by teachers from one to one hundred. [email protected] GPA is unweighted, with the exception of Advanced Placement and Honor level courses, to which a multiplier of 1.06 is applied to AP courses and a Toni Bonifacio Guidance Secretary multiplier of 1.03 is applied to Honor and College level courses. GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS: CREDITS AND REGENTS EXAMS

CREDITS

To graduate from Valhalla High School, each student is required to complete a minimum of 22 credits, to be distributed as follows:

English- 4 credits Art or Music- 1 credit Social Studies- 4 credits Health- .5 credit Math- 3 credits Physical Education- 2* Science- 3 credits Electives- 3.5 credits (Regents) Foreign Language 1.5 credits (Advanced) 1 credit (Regents) 3 credits (Adv. Regents)

*Physical Education is required by state law; the student must earn a passing grade in Physical Education each year for all four years.

REGENTS EXAMS

Students must successfully complete the following NYS Regents exams: Algebra, English, Global History, U.S. History, and one Science exam.
