Communications Survey
Just a reminder that the School District of Haverford Township is conducting a communications survey as we seek information on how we can strengthen our communications. This is a brief, anonymous survey that will only take a few minutes. Your opinion and thoughts are very valuable to us. Please click below to access this survey. It closes on April 9th.
The School District of Haverford Township is committed to improving communications and we are conducting surveys as part of a communications audit to help us determine how best to communicate with you. If you feel that your experience is vastly different from school to school with multiple children, you may complete multiple surveys and choose a different building location for each survey. Completion of the survey will require five minutes or less of your time. We welcome your input and appreciate your willingness to help us make positive changes. All survey responses and comments are completely anonymous. This survey will be accessible for your completion until 4/9/19. Dr. Maureen Reusche, Superintendent

FOR PARENTS OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS:
Learn How to Better Cope with Stress: An Introduction to Mindfulness for Ourselves and Our Young Adult Children
(For parents and high school students)
At increasingly younger ages, teens are facing higher levels of stress both in school and in everyday life. Research has found that stressful events can impact health and wellbeing in adolescents and can contribute to the development of physical and mental health problems and learning challenges. Practicing mindfulness can help both parents and teens improve their ability to focus, manage stress, regulate emotions and develop a positive outlook.
Presenter, Michael Baime, MD, will review the science behind mindfulness, lead a brief mindfulness practice, engage participants in a listening exercise and arm parents with some tools to help their young adults to regulate their response to stress and other emotional challenges.
Michael Baime, MD, one of the country’s foremost experts on mindfulness, is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He is also the founder and director of the Penn Program for Mindfulness. He earned a B.A. from Haverford College and an M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.
