North Carolina Shell Club Auction Sampler III 7 November 2015 North Carolina Shell Club Auction Sampler III 7 November 2015

Welcome to the third catalog installment profiling lots to be offered at the North Carolina Shell Club auction on November 7, 2015. This catalog includes speci- men shells, books decorator pieces, and fossils. This is the annual fund raising auction that the club sponsors which helps fund the Shell Show as well as supporting the scholarship fund the club sponsors at Uni- versity of North Carolina, Wilmington (UNCW). We have some really nice items that are sure to generate the needed funds meeting these challenging goals. Be sure to check out the silent auctions. Friday and Saturday nights will each fea- ture silent auctions in addition to the live auction Saturday night. Lots for the live auction will be on view starting Friday night. New donations continue to come in. In this catalog I include a Manus Green Tree Snail, a most prized and difficult to get shell that was donated to the club just last week. I do not expect to be able to show everything in this and other publications due to ongoing donations. This most recent prize is witness to the surprises that still await us at the auction. The profiles offered here and in previous catalogs help familiarize us with the of- ferings but there is nothing like seeing them in person. Allow yourself time to re- view the lots before the excitement begins at 7 PM Satur- day night. My wife Nancy and I are the auctioneers.
