SOMERSET COUNTY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, BURNHAM ON SEA) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS) (SPECIAL EVENTS) ORDER 2019 (BURNHAM ON SEA TRIATHLON)

Notice is hereby given that Somerset County Council intends to make an order in pursuance of the provisions of Section 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, the effect of which will be to introduce temporary traffic restrictions as detailed in the schedules below.

The Order will be made to facilitate the Burnham on Sea Triathlon and is in the interest of public safety. All closures will be signed and staffed and will remain in force only for as long as is necessary.

The Order shall come into operation at 0400 hours on Sunday 28th April 2019 and will continue in force until 1200 hours on Sunday 28th April 2019. Exemptions are provided in the Order for emergency vehicles. All signage in respect of these road closures will be erected prior to, maintained throughout and removed immediately after the event.

PART 1 Temporary Prohibition of Motor Vehicles between the hours of 0400 and 0900 on Sunday 28th April 2019

South Esplanade From its junction with Steart Drive in a southerly direction

PART 2 Temporary Prohibition of Motor Vehicles between the hours of 0400 and 1200 on Sunday 28th April 2019

Seaview Road For its entire length The Esplanade From its junction with Sea View Road, in a southerly direction to its junction with Pier Street

SCHEDULE II

Temporary prohibition of Motor Vehicles in an easterly direction between the hours of 0400 and 0900 on Sunday 28th April 2019

Pier Street From its junction with South Esplanade to its junction with Abingdon Street

SCHEDULE III

Temporary prohibition of Motor Vehicles in a northerly direction between the hours of 0400 and 0900 on Sunday 28th April 2019

South Esplanade From its junction with Steart Drive to its junction with Pier Street

SCHEDULE IV

Temporary prohibition of Motor Vehicles in a westerly direction between the hours of 0400 and 0900 on Sunday 28th April 2019

Steart Drive From its junction with South Esplanade in an easterly direction for a distance of approximately 96 metres

SOMERSET COUNTY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, BURNHAM ON SEA) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS) (SPECIAL EVENTS) ORDER 2019 (BURNHAM ON SEA TRIATHLON)

Somerset County Council in exercise of their powers under Section 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers hereby makes the following Order.

1. This Order shall come into operation at 0400 hours on Sunday 28th April 2019 and will continue in force until 1200 hours on Sunday 28th April 2019.

2. Save as provided in Article 3 of this Order no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle to proceed along the lengths of road specified in the schedule to this Order.

3. Nothing in Article 2 of this Order shall apply to:

(i) Anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform; (ii) Police, Fire and Ambulance emergency service vehicles.

4. This Order may be cited as the Somerset County Council (Various Roads, Burnham on Sea) (Temporary Traffic Restrictions) (Special Events) Order 2019 (Burnham on Sea Triathlon).
