Temporary Closure of Pickney Lane
TAKE NOTICE that in pursuance of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the County Council of Somerset have made an Order PROHIBITING ALL TRAFFIC from proceeding along Pickney Lane from 130 metres south of the junction with Nailsbourne Road to 140 metres east of the junction with Fitzroy Road a distance of 800 metres.
This order will enable Somerset Highways to carry out Drainage works from 28 July - 22 Aug 2014 and resurfacing works on 15 Sept - 16 Sept 2014 in this road.
The Order becomes effective on 28 July 2014 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The works are expected to last for Draingage works; 26 days including weekends Resurfacing works; 2 days 15-16 Sept. While the closure is in operation an alternative route will be signed as detailed below.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE
From the western end of the closure proceed in north westerly and north easterly directions along Pickney Lane and Fennington Lane to the junction with Yarford Road. Turn right and proceed in a south easterly direction along Yarford Road to the junction with Park Lane. Turn right and proceed in a south westerly direction along Park Lane to the junction with Pickney Lane. Turn right and proceed in a southerly direction along Pickney Lane to the eastern end of the closure, and vice versa.
