A guided tour in Denmark where you will hear much more about Architecture Policy and we will visit some of the best architecture cities in Denmark and the architectural highlights in 4 cites. The study tour can be from 3-5 days depending on flight connections etc.

Arrangement: Architect Henrik Stjernholm will organize the tour for free.

Travel expences: The participants have to pay for the expence to travel, hotel, meals etc. If the travel will be a reality there will be prepared a budget. Program Day 1 30 minutes after you have landed in Billund Airport we visit the quite new Lego House in Billund by BIG opened 2017 – Bjarke Ingels Group.

Day 2 The Wave 2017 – Henning Larsen Architects The Spinderi Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects We visit Vejle Municipality, which was the first city in Denmark to adopt an Architecture Policy in 1997. We visit a lot of new buildings eg. in the harbour area The Wave by Henning Larsen Architects and the Kirk domicil by Olufur Eliasson, urban space and parks and hear about the city strategy of Vejle. We visit the Citylab, which is unique in Denmark as an exhibiton for the city development. We vist the UNESCO Heritage area Jelling, where the vikings founded Denmark. We meet the city architect of Vejle and representives from the city council. Day 3 Before noon we will visit social housing ares and innovation hubs in Vejle. Kirk Kapital 2018 – Olafur Eliassen Jelling Monuments 2015 – Kristine Jensen Landscape / Ingvar Cronhammar Day 3 - afternoon In the afternoon we go to Aarhus, which was the Cultural Capital of Europe in 2017. It is the 2nd greatest city in Denmark, a univercity city, a major transformation of the habour to a new city, a new traffic system with a light railway, a townhall by , and and lot of urban spaces. The new Labrary and City house Dokk 1 is a unique public house for all the citizens opened in 2016. We will meet the city architect. In the evening we go to Copenhagen.

Copenhagen has over the recent years been in the top 3 world cities as the best sustainable city and one of the best for living. A huge transformation has taken place over the last 20 years, and it is continuing with a lot of new development areas.
