Hello and welcome…

Thank you for choosing The James Grigg Movement Studio™ for your appointment. My intention for each session is to help you to move more efficiently than when you arrived. How we achieve that depends on the reason you are coming in. We may use some form of exercise therapy, massage, pilates, joint mobilisations or in a lot of cases, a combination of the above.

My intention longterm, is for you to be able to continue to move more efficiently and enjoy the freedom that comes with your body’s ability to move freely. By bringing awareness to your own body, both it’s restrictions as well as it capabilities, you can start to learn ways to maintain optimal efficiency, leading to greater ranges of free flowing movement

Over the next few pages are a few details on what to bring depending on why you are coming to visit, as well as directions on how to find me. Please read the directions carefully, the can be a difficult place to navigate for the modern Sat Nav!

Directions to The James Grigg Movement Studio™

(New Forest - Main Studio)

From :

Upon reaching Downton, turn left at traffic lights signposted towards Redlynch and Woodfalls. This turning is located next to the Bull Pub. Continue on this road for about 8 minutes which continues to incline. Once entering Redlynch continue for a further 2 minutes as you pass the post office on your left and the Woodfalls Inn pub shortly afterwards.

Once you have passed the Woodfalls Inn Pub you will see the road bend to the left. At this bend take the exit right which is signposted Hale and . Continue on this road crossing the cattle grid and staying to the right. You will then arrive at Hale Village Green (from the direction of the arrow located on map below).

Stay on the right side of the Village Green, once at the far end turn left and then follow the track down on the right. At the start of the track there is a sign that says “residents parking only”. Once on the track, we are the third building down (“The Bungalow”) located as the JG logo on the map. You can park opposite free of charge. From M27:

Exit M27 junction 1 signposted towards (B3079). After passing the Green Dragon Pub and The Bell Inn (approximately 3mins) turn left, following signs towards Downton and Fordingbridge. After approximately 5 mins at the top of the hill, there is a fork in the road...head right towards Downton. Approximately 2 mins after passing over the cattle-grid turn left towards Hale. This is a narrow lane with horses (drive carefully!). At the slightly odd shaped cross-roads, head straight on. Turn left at the next junction and then you will arrive at Hale Village Green.

Stay on the right side of the Village Green, once at the far end turn left and then follow the track down on the right. Once on the track, we are the third building down (“The Bungalow”) located as the JG logo on the map. You can park opposite free of charge.

From / Fordingbridge:

If you know how to get to Hale Village Green then you can head through and follow the tail end of the above instructions. If you are unsure of the local area then we suggest you follow the directions from Salisbury section. You will arrive at Downton, turn right instead of left at the traffic lights and then continue as instructed above.

Clinic and sports massage appointments - Please bring clothing you feel comfortable in.

Shorts:

If I have asked you to bring shorts, please either bring a:

- pair of loose fitting shorts,

- or a pair of “short” shorts (i.e. hot pants type for runners).

Wearing a pair of tight fitting shorts from the hip down to the knee will inhibit the ability to assess and treat you properly. If we need to release muscles in your thigh area (i.e. hamstrings / quadriceps) this is very difficulty in skin tight clothing.

Pilates - Please bring comfortable clothing you would normally wear to exercise in.

Scans / reports:

If you have had investigation for your current complaint (i.e. X-Ray, MRI, CT or Ultrasound) then please bring your report if you have it. There is no need to bring a copy of the scan itself.

Current medication:

If you are currently on any medication, please have the details to hand prior to your appointment.

Payment:

Terms:

Payment must be made at the time of each appointment. Payment for block sessions need to be paid either at the time or in advance of the first block session.

Accepted :

You can pay for any of your sessions by cash or Debit/Credit card (excluding: American Express).

Cancellation policy:

There is a strict 24 hour cancellation policy. This means that if you fail to let The James Grigg Movement Studio™ know that you will be not attending your appointment for whatever reason less than 24 hours prior to your appointment time, you will incur the full charge.
