The proposal was earlier prescribed TORs by the Ministry of Environment and Forests on 15.02.2008.The proposal is for renewal of mining lease which will filll due in September, 2009 bnd enhancement of production of limestone (building stone) to 5500tonnes per day (TPD) (1.7 million TPA). The total mine lease lrea of the lrroject is 999.1ha, out of which 70ha is an agricultgral land and 929.1ha is wasteland" No forest land is involved. The mine lease area consists r:f seven block:s namely, Block-L covers villages of , Laksl'rmipura alrd Kumbh Kot; Block-2 A covers Nayagaon Village; Block -Z B covers Village Armia; Ellock-3 Suket and Payali Village, Block-4 Atralia Village; l3lock-5 Heria Kheri Vill,age and Block-6 covers Telia Kheri Village. The Ministry of Environmenl and Forests has examined the application in accordance with the EIA Notification, 2006 and hereby accords enVironmental clearance under the provisions thereof to the above mentioned Kotah Stone Limestone (Building Stone) (minor mineral): Mining Project (ML U89) of M/s Associated Stone Industries (Kotah) Limited for an annual production capacity of l.Tmillion torrnes of limestone (Builcing Stone) by opencast semi- mechanised meth,cd involving total mining; lease area of 999.1ha, subject to implementation of the following c;onditions and environmental safeguards.

I (xiv) Regular monitoring of ground water leirel and quality shall be carried out in and around the mine lease by establishing a network of existing wells and constrrrcting new piezometers du;ing the mining operation. The monitoring should be carried out fout'times in a year - pre-monsoon (April-May), monsoon (August), post-monsoon (November) and winter (January) irnd the data thus collected shall be sent regularly to the Ministry of Environment and Foresl;s and its Regional Office, Lucknow, the Central Ground Water Authority and the Regional Director, Central Ground Wal:er Board. If at any stage, it is observed that the r;roundwater table is getring depleted due to the mining activity, fl€c,€ssitry corrective measures shall be carried out. i

(xv) Appropriate mitigative measures shall; be taken to pr€:vent pollution of the the Ahu River, the Anjar River and the Patli River in consultation with the State' Pollution Cclntrol Board.
