Thank you for your strong engagement and support of EEI International Programs.

-The EEI International Programs Team 3

A Message From EEI International Programs The transition of energy systems is global in scale, local in context, and being made possible by EEI member companies.

Worldwide, electric companies are leading the way to deliver a bright energy future – a future that, by all indications, will be fueled by electricity. There are many different pathways to addressing the risks and challenges presented by this transformation, and the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) and its staff are grateful to our members for their engagement in 2019 to share experiences and exchange ideas with our community.

EEI International Programs is committed to providing a global and efficient platform for industry collaboration, dialogue, outreach, and leadership. Our activities connect electric companies operating in more than 90 countries and seek to leverage the breath and diversity of our global network to address our industry’s challenges and their potential solutions. Each year, our international membership continues to grow, and in response, our team is working diligently to deliver resources and services that address your priorities.

Throughout 2019, EEI convened and participated in global events and strategic dialogues, and produced content that provided strategic insight and foresight into the changing fundamentals of our industry and the possible futures being shaped by mega trends such as urbanization, climate adaptation and mitigation, digitization, and artificial intelligence. We recognized innovation, leadership, and operational excellence within our industry through EEI’s annual industry awards. To increase our global outreach we organized regional dialogues with our partners and launched a new mobile application to improve member engagement. We expanded our thought leadership activities by establishing the Global Executive Leadership Network which consists of retired electric company CEOs, former EEI Chairmen, and other senior executives who continue to make contributions to the industry.

In 2020, we will continue to promote the benefits of electrification, and the new technologies that will ultimately lead to innovative solutions and valued services for our communities and our customers. We will create more opportunities for members to share best practices in areas such as business continuity and response to extreme weather events, new customer experiences, investments in infrastructure, innovation strategy, stakeholder engagement, and cyber and physical security. We will continue telling our industry’s story of transformation and working to educate policymakers and other key audiences about the value our industry provides for the world.

As always, we are deeply grateful to EEI’s leadership team and to all of you for your investment and involvement in EEI — and for helping us to demonstrate the Power by Association that EEI represents. 4
