Lendlease/Island Palm Communities (private housing partner) is building a new office building in the Old Patriot Community on Schofield Barracks to better meet the housing needs of Soldiers and Family members. May 24, USAG Bavaria Groundbreaking. FY16 MCA PN86824 to construct a vehicle maintenance facility, hardstand, and SSA warehouse to meet stationing action requirements. The project PA is $51M with a projected start date of May 2021 and completion in August 2023. May 26, Rock Island Arsenal Industry Day for Enhanced Use Lease (EUL) that will find lessees for the Arsenal’s former Golf Clubhouse and the historic Quarters 1 (B. 301) that enhance the installation. Date allows the largest possible media push and gives the targeted industries (e.g. hospitality) time to recover from the fiscal effects of the pandemic. June 1, USAG Daegu Groundbreaking for FY21 R&M project to repair deteriorated B309 (Barracks). This three-story UH built in 1962 requires complete replacement of utility systems. The project PA is $6M with an estimated start date of July 2021 and completion in September 2022. June 1, Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall Groundbreaking ceremony for Building 416 renovation. This ceremony kicks off the construction phase of a $31M renovation project to improve the quality of life for USMC Marines stationed on JBM-HH. Dates and times will be refined at a later date. June 14, Groundbreaking for Electronic Proving Ground (EPG) RDTE facility. FY18 MCA PN90351. Ground Transportation Equipment Building will be used for testing and maintenance/storage of EPG's vehicles and equipment. Estimated project duration June 2021 - June 2023. Estimated value of facility is $30M. Groundbreaking ceremony is still in the planning phase with times TBD. July 9, Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall Groundbreaking ceremony for Building 404 on Fort Myer. Building 404 houses the only Dining Facility (DFAC) on JBM-HH as well as the Soldier for Life Program and the U.S. Army Band. Dates and times be refined at a later date. Sept. 1, Fort A.P. Hill Groundbreaking for constructions of two additional facilities (classroom and operations support building) to support candidate assessment process for the Marine Raiders/Marine Special Operations Command (MARSOC). COVID-19 issues delayed award.
