21 November was the maiden flight CLICK of the MBAC’s newest RV 12. ZK HERE MBB, which has been two years in the making to get it airborne. Along the way there has been numerous interruptions to the completion of this machine.

The instigator of this fabulous project and mentor to so many students and adults alike, Jim Evans, was killed in a plane crash 2019 and two other mentors Peter Austin and Roger Beasley also died during this aircraft’s construction causing adjustments to the projects time line for getting it into the air. New hangars are looking great from above and the new occupiers are happy as. Lots of work has been done to achieve this enviable record of hangar builds so thank you to all of those involved.

MBA flew 0 hours in November as it was out of service for maintenance but has now returned and ready to fly. MBB is yet to be put on line as some mods are required to the cooling system and the 10 hours shakedown flying post sign off have yet to be completed. Get current again on those fine sunny days we have between the showers. A new system has been launched with a “Release Form” to be completed before flight. MBA will now run on AVGAS with a fuel card and will stay on board the aircraft for these purposes.
