  • Joint Local Plan LDS 2019
Plymouth, South Hams and West Devon Joint Local Development Scheme 1. PURPOSE OF THE LDS 1.1. The Local Development Scheme (LDS) sets out a three year rolling timetable for preparing and reviewing the Development Plan, to provide: . A long term framework for the development, within which the Councils, other Agencies and key stakeholders can coordinate their investment programmes; . An up-to-date, statutory basis for determining planning applications, (unless material considerations indicate otherwise). 1.2. This LDS sets out the timetable for producing development plan documents for Plymouth City Council, South Hams District Council and West Devon Borough Council. The three local planning authorities have successfully collaborated on the production of the Plymouth and South West Devon Joint Local Plan, and are continuing to work together on the delivery of the JLP, and the creation of further local development documents. This LDS therefore applies jointly to the local planning authorities of Plymouth, South Hams and West Devon. 1.3. The Local Development Scheme (LDS) will set out the following information: . The documents that make up the development plan for the three local authorities; . The documents that will be produced in order to maintain an up to date plan led system (explaining who, how and when they will be produced, as well as their status); . The purpose of, geographical extent and relationships between these documents, explaining how they will provide the framework for considering the long term social, economic, environmental and resource impacts of development proposals. 1.4. The LDS will also set out the associated Local Development Documents which each local authority intends to produce in support of the Joint Local Plan.

  • The Next Stop
THE NEXT STOP A PARENT’S GUIDE TO THE MAIN BUS ROUTES SERVING SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN PLYMOUTH SEPTEMBER 2014 This leaflet is designed to help parents when deciding which secondary school they would prefer their child to attend in September 2014. Most opt for the local school or community college, often within easy walking distance of home, but others choose one outside the immediate area and may, therefore, need information about the availability of bus services. All Plymouth secondary schools and community colleges are listed in this leaflet, together with the main bus routes that stop at, or very near to, each one and the local areas that each route serves. (The route number and operator are coded – for example, PC 50 is a Plymouth Citybus route serving Tor Bridge High from the city centre via Prince Rock and Leigham). For further information about routes and times contact:- First Devon & Cornwall: Telephone 0845 600 1420 Plymouth Citybus: Telephone 0845 077 2223 Warning This leaflet lists bus routes as at September 2013, but these may be changed or even cancelled at any time. The leaflet cannot, therefore, be a firm guide as to the bus services available from September 2014 onwards, nor does it imply that pupils using these services would be entitled to free school transport. Free School Transport and Concessionary Fares The current position is that Plymouth pupils are not normally entitled to free transport to a mainstream secondary school because they all live within walking distance – defined in law as 3 miles by the shortest available walking route – of a designated comprehensive school.

Table of Contents 1 Introduction ........................................................................ 5 2 Objectives and Themes ......................................... 13 3 Green Infrastructure Projects ......................... 39 4 Delivering the Framework ..................................88 NOTE This framework has been written by South Hams District Council Officers, in conjunction with a wide range of organisations, to help guide green infrastructure development across the District. The framework should be viewed as a partnership, rather than a South Hams District Council, document reflecting the fact that many projects will be led by other organisations or partnerships and recognising the need for coordinated, targeted delivery of green infrastructure. The following organisations provided comments on a draft version of the framework: Devon Biodiversity Records Centre, Devon Birdwatching and Preservation Society, Devon County Council, Devon Wildlife Trust, Environment Agency, National Trust, Natural England, RSPB, South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Unit and the Woodland Trust. Ideas for green infrastructure projects were also identified through an online survey open to members of the public. All comments received have been taken into account in this final document. The production of the framework has been funded and supported by the South Devon Green Infrastructure Partnership comprising Natural England, South Hams District Council, Torbay Council, Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust, South Devon Area of Outstanding
