Afternoon at leisure  Day 3 This morning you will be driven to Sinharaja with enroute visit to Morapitiya  Day 4 Morning till late afternoon – visit the Sinharaja Rainforest area with private guide  Day 5 Today after breakfast, driven to Yala village. Afternoon at leisure  Day 6 Morning and afternoon jeep safaris at Yala  Day 7 Morning and afternoon jeep safaris at Yala  Day 8 Today morning visit Udawalawe or Bundala sanctuary. Afternoon visit the Palatupana Lewaya salt pans for shore birds  Day 9 Today morning drive to Nuwara Eliya with enroute stop at Buduruvagala and Ella’s Gap  Day 10 Today morning till late afternoon visit Horton’s Plain National Park and Victoria Plains  Day 11 Today morning visit the Hagkala Gardens. Later driven to Kandy, evening visit the Temple of Tooth  Day 12 Today morning visit the Udawattakele Reservoir. Later driven to Minneriya National Park  Day 13 Today morning driven to Weligama bay. Afternoon at leisure  Day 14 Today morning enjoy a whale-watching trip from the Mirissa harbour  Day 15 Day at leisure  Day 16 Today morning driven back to Colombo to fly back home

Day 1 Depart the UK to Colombo arriving early next morning.

Day 2 Arrive Colombo & drive to Beruwala Arrive into Colombo. On exiting the baggage reclaim you will be met by a representative and transferred in an air conditioned vehicle to your hotel in Beruwala (3 hours drive) Tropical Villas. Time permitting, you will enjoy a privately guided birdwalk Overnight – Tropical Villas, Beruwala – Lunch & Dinner only

Day 3 Beruwala to Sinharaja Today morning you will be driven to Sinharaja with a stop at the Morapitiya National Park for lowland endemics such as Green Billed Coucal. Overnight – Rainforest Lodge, Sinharaja – All meals included

Day 4 Sinharaja Rain Forest After breakfast you will be driven up to the Sinharaja Rain Forest where you will be birding for the day with your guide. The main targets here include the Serendib Scops Owl, Sri Lanka Woodpigeon, Black-capped Yellow Bulbul, Sri Lanka Crested Drongo, Crimson-backed Flameback, Red-faced Malkoha, Sri Lanka Scaly Thrush, Sri Lanka Myna, White-faced Starling, Sri Lanka Junglefowl, Ashy-headed Laughingthrush, Sri Lanka Spurfowl and Sri Lanka Frogmouth. Among mammals you might see the Brown Mongoose and the Purple Faced Leaf Monkey or Bear Monkey. After birding – you will be driven back to your lodge. Evening is at leisure. Overnight – The Rain Forest Lodge – All meals included Day 5 Sinharaja to Yala National Park Today morning enjoy a visit to the Sinharaja Rain Forest. After lunch you will be driven to Yala Village (5 hours drive). Arrive by day break to check in to the Yala Village Hotel. Evening is at leisure. Overnight – Yala Village Hotel – All meals included.

Day 6 Yala National Park Morning and afternoon jeep safaris to Yala National Park – can be altered with Bundala or Tissamharama area as well – this will depend on the interest levels of the guests and the guidance from the local leader. Overnight – Yala Village Hotel – All meals included.

Day 7 Yala National Park Morning and afternoon jeep safaris to Yala National Park – can be altered with Bundala or Tissamharama area as well – this will depend on the interest levels of the guests and the guidance from the local leader. Overnight – Yala Village Hotel – All meals included.

Day 8 Yala National Park Morning and afternoon jeep safaris to Yala National Park – can be altered with Bundala or Tissamharama area as well – this will depend on the interest levels of the guests and the guidance from the local leader. Overnight – Yala Village Hotel – All meals included.

Day 9 Yala to Nuwara Eliya Today morning you will be driven to Nuwara Eliya (4 hours drive). En route visit the ruins at Buduruvagala and make a short stop at Ella’s Gap – a beautiful area on this route. Overnight – Jetwing St Andrews – All meals included.

Day 10 Nuwara Eliya After breakfast, you will be driven to the Hortons Plain or the Victoria area looking for some of the target mammals and birds of this area. Some birds like the Pied Thrush, Srilanka Whistling Thrush, Indian Blue Robin etc are very shy and might take long time to be found. This area also has a small population of the Kashmir Flycatcher that needs some dedicated searching in this area. The day will be spent in Hagkala Botanical Garden, the Victorian Plains National Park and Hortons Plain National Park – not necessarily in that order. Overnight - The Jetwing St. Andrews – All meals included.

Day 11 Nuwara Eliya to Kandy Today morning you will visit the Hagkala Gardens. Later – you will be driven to Kandy (3 hours drive). On arrival check in at the Amaya Hills Hotel for an overnight stay. The hotel is located high up on a hill with excellent views of the surrounding areas. After some rest – you will be driven to the Temple of Tooth and watch the evening ceremony there. After the ceremony you will be driven back to the hotel. Overnight - The Amaya Hills - All meals included

Day 12 Kandy Today morning visit the Udawattakele Reservoir. After breakfast you will be driven to the Minneriya National Park – a great place to try for the Asian Elephants. After the visit, you will be driven back to the hotel. Overnight - The Amaya Hills - All meals included

Day 13 Kandy to Weligama Bay Today morning you will be driven for a while (6 hours) to the Weligama Bay – on arrival check in to the Weligama Bay Resort. Afternoon is at leisure. Overnight - The Weligama Bay Resort – Breakfast only.

Day 14 Weligama Bay Today morning you will be driven to the Mirissa Harbour from where you will start your pelagic watching trip. The mammals include the Sperm Whale, Blue Whale, Common and Spinner Dolphins; birds include Flesh-footed Shearwater, Bridled Tern, Pomarine Skua, Common Noddy and many more. Overnight - The Weligama Bay Resort – Breakfast only.

Day 15 Weligama Bay The whole day is at leisure. In case you wish – short excursions to near and surrounding areas can be organized for you.

Day 16 Weligama to Colombo and fly back Today morning you will be driven back to Colombo in time for your flight back home.
