WELCOME We are so glad to have you here with us! Westminster is a community of people gathering for worship, learning, fellowship, and service. We trust you will receive warmth, compassion, challenge, and encouragement.

Guest Information If this is your first time worshiping with us, please stop by our Welcome Desk on the lower level outside the Fellowship Hall. We have a gift for you and would like to help you learn more about ways you and your family can connect here at Westminster.

Worship and Fellowship The 9:30am worship service is led musically by the Worship Band. The 11am worship service is led musically by the Chancel Choir and organ. In between services, we gather for coffee and conversation in the Fellowship Hall.

Adults We offer Church School in conjunction with worship at 9:30am and 11am. Please feel free to explore a list of church school classes and our other adult ministry opportunities by visiting our website at westpreschurch.org/adults or by visiting the Welcome Desk.

Children Children of all ages are welcome and encouraged to participate in worship. Worship materials for ages 3–12 are available in the Narthex outside the Sanctuary.

• 0–24 months: During all services, a nursery is provided for infants through toddlers in Room 113 and is staffed by trained, professional child care workers and volunteer helpers.

• Ages 2 years old–5th Grade: Church school is offered in conjunction with worship at 9:30am and 11am in Rooms 105, 111, and 107. If you would like for your children to attend Church School, please fill out a Child Sign-In Card and send it with them at the Welcoming the Children time in worship. *

• Grades K–5: During our 11am service, elementary students are invited to Room 106 to participate in JAMS (Junior Arts and Music on Sundays) which engages kids in singing, drama, percussion, and more.

*Please note that on the first Sunday of the month we do not have Church School for children. We encourage all children to attend worship, so they can participate in communion with their faith community. Alternatively, our nursery will still be available for babies—4 years old in Room 113, and JAMS will still be offered for Grades K–5 at 11am in Room 106. Youth Youth grades 6–12 meet in Room 100 at 11am on Sunday mornings. New youth are welcome. On the fourth Sunday of each month, the youth lead our “Dial Up” service at 11am in the Chapel.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! Help us be savvy with our resources and our environment. We invite you to place your bulletin in the baskets provided in the Narthex following worship each Sunday. Worship at Westminster Presbyterian Church

ANTHEM

Hymn of Mercy DAN FORREST Gracious Lord, Thy mercy filleth all the earth below; And from heaven’s throne it falleth when to Thee I go. Mercy flowing, swift pursuing like a river strong,

Sympathizing with my weakness; mercy suffering long. Mercy calling with compassion: “Oh, return to Me.” Wounded are the hands extended, loving is the plea. How can I refuse Thy mercy? Whither would I flee?

From my idol shrine I turn, Lord, reaching up to Thee. Tender mercy of the Savior gently drawing nigh With the blood that cleanseth sinners ready to apply.

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. Creating a Sacred Space for Scary Conversations | February 17 and 24 Many of us have sensed that we are living through particularly polarizing times. We long to have conversations with one another about the issues that divide us. This takes a great deal of courage, patience, and love. We hope you’ll consider joining this three-week class, where you will be invited into a sacred space for listening, learning and conversation. We will explore Scripture, our values, and the ways these inform our political perspectives. We will do our best to bring together “conservative” voices and “liberal” voices and everything in between. As hard and uncomfortable as it might be, these conversations are important. And if we can’t have them at church, where else can we have them?

Line Dancing for Everyone | February 17 and 24 Dust off your boots and get ready to learn some of the latest country line dances! No experience necessary and boots not required. All you need is a willing spirit and a desire to move.
