DAVID AZCUE Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP David Azcue is Counsel in the Firm’s Asia Private Funds Practice and is based in Tokyo, where he co-heads the Firm’s Private Funds Practice in Japan. He has spent most of the past 30 years in Japan, the last 13 focused exclusively on private funds matters. David’s practice focuses on advising fund sponsors in connection with all aspects of fundraising across a broad range of strategies, with particular focus on structuring and marketing of Japan-focused buyout funds. LLC Omar is a managing director in the Merchant Banking Division (MBD) in Capital Markets. He is responsible for global fund financing for MBD and leads capital raising activities in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to assuming this role in 2016, Omar served as head of the US CLO New Issue Business. Omar was based in London from 2012 and headed the European effort on financial institution solutions for credit and mortgage products, and he was head of the Mortgage desk in Asia Pacific from 2005 to 2012. Before that, Omar worked on the Structured Product Syndicate desk in New York before setting up the department’s desk in Tokyo in 2005. JANN PERNG CHEE Standard Chartered Bank Jann Perng (“JP”) is an Executive Director in the Financial and Strategic Investors Group (FSIG) in Greater China and North Asia, based in Hong Kong. Before joining FSIG, he worked in Corporate Finance for more than six years, focusing on sponsor financing and structured lending in Greater China. PATRICK CORDES Barings Asia Mr. Cordes joined BPEA in 2006. 21 FABRICE GUESDE Natixis Fabrice Guesde took up his role as Head of Global Structured Credit & Solutions (GSCS), Asia Pacific in April 2016. Based in Hong Kong, he is responsible for overseeing the development of Natixis’ structured credit solution offering in the region, including across asset-backed securities (ABS), collateralized loan obligations (CLOs), capital call facilities and fund financings, and a range of bank and insurance regulatory solutions. Fabrice has over 25 years’ experience. He began his career in 1989 at Manufacturers Hanover Bank (now JPMorgan Chase), based in Paris, and in 1991 joined Bayerische Landesbank, Paris Branch as Head of Credit and then Head of Structured Credit & Syndication. In 1996 he moved to Commerzbank as Head of Corporate Banking and Structured Credits, France, and in 2003 he joined European IT business-to-business service provider Econocom as Group Financial Director. He joined Natixis in 2006 as Head of Commercial Coordination in the Structured Finance and Market platform, and in 2008 was appointed Head of Debt Engineering. In 2011, Fabrice was named Head of Credit & Insurance Solutions as part of the creation of the GSCS business line, subsequently overseeing the setup and development of Natixis’ capital call and fund financing business for Europe. Fabrice is a graduate of Institut d’Etudes Politiques, Paris, and holds a Master of Law degree from University of Paris II. In addition to French, he speaks English, German and Dutch.

TOM HIGHNAM Allens Tom is a Partner in the Banking & Finance team at Allens. He has extensive experience advising lenders and sponsors in a range of financings, with particular expertise in funds finance, leveraged and acquisition finance and derivatives. Tom is recognised as a leading practitioner in the Australian market representing financiers on subscription financing transactions for both domestic and global funds, including Partners Group, Pacific Alliance Group, First State Super, PEP, AMP, Quadrant Private Equity and Next Capital. PIERRE MAUGÜÉ Debevoise & Plimpton Pierre Maugüé is a partner in the Finance Group at Debevoise & Plimpton. Mr. Maugüé brings a global perspective to his work, having lived and worked in Asia, Europe and the United States. He joined Debevoise in 1999 in the firm’s Hong Kong office. He relocated to the New York office in 2002 before moving to London in 2014. 23 EUGENE MIN The Blackstone Group (HK) Ltd Eugene Min is Blackstone’s Head of Business Finance for Asia. Since joining Blackstone in 2018, Mr. Min has been leading the Business Finance team members in Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo and Mumbai to support the Real Estate, Private Equity and Tactical Opportunities businesses. Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Min worked at CLSA Capital Partners, a multi-strategy alternative investment platform, as their Chief Financial Officer and a member of the management team where he was responsible for the platform’s finance, tax, reporting, valuation and corporate planning functions. Prior to that, Mr. Min spent 13 years at J.P. Morgan Asset Management in their Global Real Assets Group initially based in New York and subsequently relocated to Hong Kong to help launch their Asian Infrastructure investment platform. Prior to that, Mr. Min worked at Ernst & Young in New York.

NICK MITRA Natixis Nick Mitra manages the Capital Call business for Natixis for the Americas and is also the global coordinator for the Capital Call product ensuring compliance with exposure limits and adherence to consistent standards for Capital Call credit facilities. Prior to joining the Global Structured Credit & Solutions Group at Natixis, Nick worked in the Credit Group at Natixis covering Financial Institutions and Insurance Companies. He has also worked at Goldman Sachs and Accenture in different roles and was the CFO of an entrepreneurial start-up – UConnections.com – aimed at the education space. Nick started his career at Lehman Brothers as a trader’s assistant in the security lending/repo area. Nick has approximately 17 years of experience in the financial sector. Nick is also a co-founding member of the Fund Finance Association, an industry group dedicated to Fund Finance and related products, where he sits on the Board of the Association. CHIWU PARK Shinhan Alternative Investment Management Inc. Chiwu Park is the Head of SAIM’s Real Estate and Structured Finance team, which is one of the leading Korean Alternative Asset Managers based in Seoul. Equipped with a clear mission statement of becoming Korea’s Top Capital Exporter, his team actively invests in overseas real estate, real estate debt, and structured finance products. In order to meet Korean institutional investors’ demand for credit-enhanced debt products, SAIM has proactively expanded its business to Fund Financing in 2018 which was the first Fund Finance product introduced in Korean Non-Banking debt market. 24 JONATHAN PEIPER SMBC Jonathan Peiper is a Managing Director & Group Head in Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation’s Subscription Secured Finance Department, which acts as a Lead Arranger and Bookrunner on loans to many of the world’s preeminent private equity funds in the US, Europe and Asia. Mr. Peiper has been originating, structuring, arranging and executing subscription credit facilities and other fund financings for over 15 years and is currently a leader in its global department. Formerly, Mr. Peiper was a member of Sumitomo Mitsui’s Public Finance Department where he focused on providing letters of credit, loans and bond purchases for municipalities, hospitals, not-for-profits, and public and private partnerships.

TERRANCE PHILIPS Citi Private Bank Terrance Philips is a Managing Director at Citi Private Bank in Hong Kong, acting as the Asia Head of Private Equity Client Coverage. In his role he is responsible for developing relationships with General Partners of Private Equity Firms and their respective Funds across Asia. Philips coordinates with his partners to deliver the Citi Bank platform to the Private Equity asset class to include; Subscription Facilities, Private Banking, Investment Banking and Funds Distribution. WILLIAM REINDEL Fried Frank F. William Reindel is a partner in the Corporate Department and the Finance Practice at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver and Jacobson LLP. Mr. Reindel is resident in Fried Frank’s New York office. He joined the Firm in 1978 and became partner in 1986. JAN SYSEL Fried Frank Jan Sysel is a corporate finance partner resident in Fried Frank’s New York office and co-heads the Firm’s fund finance practice. Mr. Sysel represents sponsors, borrowers, arrangers and lenders on a wide variety of financing transactions primarily in connection with fund formation, as well as leveraged acquisitions, spinoffs, recapitalizations and restructurings, across a broad range of industries. TERRY TAM Hony Capital Mr. Tam joined Hony Capital in 2016 as Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Tam has more than 20 years of experience in providing tax and consulting services for multinational corporations and private equity institutions. He helped local and overseas private equity firms in designing fund structure and tax planning for fundraising. He also helped fund managers, individuals, or institutional investors in tax planning in order to achieve optimal tax effect Prior to joining Hony Capital, Mr. Tam was a Tax Partner at PwC. 26 SHIRLEEN TAN Walkers Shirleen has broad experience of debt financing transactions and specialises in advising lenders and borrowers in relation to Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands law aspects of fund finance, leveraged and acquisition finance, real estate finance, asset finance, structured finance, project finance, margin lending and general corporate lending. During his career at the firm, among his lending transactions, he has represented investment and commercial banks, as agents and arrangers in more than $60 billion of subscription secured credit facilities to Asia, US, Europe, Latin America and global real estate, infrastructure, debt, buyout and energy private equity funds, including some of the first real estate private equity funds in Japan, Greater China, Singapore and Korea and some of the largest global infrastructure funds and Asia-focused buyout funds. YEMI TÉPÉ Morrison & Foerster Yemi Tépé is a partner in the Finance and Projects Group of Morrison & Foerster, based in the Singapore office. She specializes in domestic and multi-jurisdictional acquisition and leveraged finance, public to private takeovers, real estate finance, debt structuring and restructuring, syndicated lending and subscription line financing. Yemi advises leading international banks and financial institutions, major corporates, private equity sponsors, alternative financiers such as hedge funds and asset managers, as well as emerging growth, mid- cap, and large public and privately held companies. 27 MARY TOUCHSTONE Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP Mary Touchstone is a Partner and Head of the Fund Finance Practice at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP. Mary has helped to establish Simpson Thacher as a global leader in the representation of financial sponsors in fund financings. She is widely acknowledged as a leading lawyer in the subscription credit facility market and represents many of the world’s preeminent sponsors of private equity, real estate, energy, infrastructure, debt and other investment funds on the largest and most complex fund facilities. Mary and her team regularly work on a wide variety of fund level financings, including secured and unsecured subscription (or capital call) facilities, with borrowing capacity for the fund as well as its parallel funds, alternative investment vehicles and portfolio companies. Mary serves as Vice Chairman, and member of the Board, of the Fund Finance Association and as Co-Chair of the U.S. Committee of Women in Fund Finance.

ROBERT TSANG ANZ Robert specialises in balance sheet management for Financial institutions, including capital management, risk management and asset-liability management. Robert focuses on FI regulatory and industry developments spanning Banks, Insurers and other non-bank FIs (e.g. fund sponsors, Leasing cos, etc) in Europe and APAC; and the application of Financial products, including capital markets, derivatives, payments and financing; to solve for the objectives of FIs. Prior to ANZ, Robert spent 16 years in the FI business in Asia, including roles in Risk management in ABN AMRO, Risk management Advisory in PwC Financial Risk Management unit advising on Basel II implementation; FIG specialist in JPMorgan focused on balance sheet management and providing derivative and capital market solutions to FI clients, FIG Solution sales in UBS and the Boston Consulting Group in FI business and operating strategy advisory. Robert has a MSc (Operations Research & Management) from the University of Amsterdam.

EMMA WANG East West Bank Emma has 13+ years in Fund Finance in both US and China. She is Head of Private Equity for East West Bank greater China/Asia and specialized in providing customized and creative transactions to private equity firms. Before joining East West, Emma was responsible for developing client relationships and managing a portfolio of private equity firms in US at Comerica Bank’s Boston office for 6 years. Previously, she worked at MUFG’s New York office. Emma holds a Master’s in Finance from Brandeis International Business School, and a BA from Osaka Prefecture University. Emma is a trilingual, speaking Chinese, Japanese and English.

JAMES WEBB Carey Olsen James, who specialises in Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands (BVI) law, advises on a wide range of debt transactions, including acquisition and leveraged finance, real estate finance, fund finance, margin lending, structured finance, bond issuances, distressed debt, security enforcements, work-outs and debt restructurings. In addition, he acts on corporate transactions, including on all downstream private equity deals, investments, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, shareholder arrangements and corporate restructurings. Prior to joining Carey Olsen, James was a partner in the Hong Kong office of another leading offshore law firm, where he worked on many of the largest regional transactions. He has previously lived and worked in both the Cayman Islands and BVI for nearly five years. Before moving offshore, James started his legal 28 career with Allen & Overy, and spent nearly a decade working in its London and Singapore offices. MARIUS WEEHUIZEN ING Bank Marius is ING’s Head of Non-Bank Financial Institutions Asia (NBFI) and Head of Financial Sector Lending Asia (FISLA). The FISLA team includes ING’s subscription and fund financing business while the NBFI team is responsible for the overall coverage of asset managers, sponsors, insurers, securities companies, pension funds and SWFs in the region Marius has been with ING for 16 years in Europe and Asia where he has held various structuring, lending and origination roles and previously worked in Deloitte’s international tax structuring practice in Europe. He holds an LLB and LLM from the University of Amsterdam and an MBA from Georgetown University

PATRICK WONG Allen & Overy Patrick is a Partner based in Allen & Overy’s Hong Kong office. He has experience in a wide range of banking and finance transactions including bilateral and syndicated corporate lending, acquisition financings, fund financings, equity margin financings, pre-IPO investments and other event-driven financings. Patrick regularly represents banks and non-bank financial institutions on structured cross-border financings in the Asia Pacific region. From 2010 to 2014, Patrick was a legal counsel at Deutsche Bank partnering with the business to manage risks and produce tangible solutions on a range of debt products offered by the Structured Finance team. Patrick speaks Mandarin, Cantonese and English.

JEAN WOO Ashurst Jean Woo is a partner in the international finance department in the Singapore office of Ashurst. She has over 15 years of international banking and finance experience across London and Singapore. Her practice includes all aspects of structured finance such as acquisition finance, fund finance, structured trade and commodities finance, telecoms financing as well as restructurings. She has considerable experience acting for banks / financial institutions in the development of new banking products including those relating to fintech and supply chain financing.
