ABOUT KING’S COLLEGE King's College is an independent, four-year, coeducational Catholic college with more than 2,300 full-time and 400 part-time students. Founded by the Holy Cross Fathers from the University of Notre Dame in 1946, King's prepares students for a purposeful life with an education that integrates the human values inherent in a broadly-based curriculum. King's has been recognized as one of America's Best Colleges by U.S. News & World Report for the past 20 years; Barron's Best Buys in College Education for 10 straight years; and Forbes Magazine's America's Best Colleges nine consecutive years, among other honors. Its most prestigious recognition is as one of only 16 institutions nationwide to par- ticipate in the Greater Expectations Initiative that will influence the curriculum development of schools nationwide. A new, innovative four-year program of career development across the curriculum unites professional and faculty counselors to an intense advisement process. The result is a 99% job or graduate school placement within six months of graduation. The college has a 13:1 student:faculty ratio. King's offers 36 major programs; a graduate school with a five-year master's physician assistant program; master's in education with a concentration in reading, and graduate courses in health care administration, account- ing, and finance; in business, humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences and awards Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, and Master of Science degrees. King's also has a five-year cooperative Engineering dual-degree with Notre Dame which began in 2013-14. Students study their first three years at King's before completing the final two years at Notre Dame. In 2017-18 King's introduces on-campus Bachelor's degree programs in both Civil and Mechanical Engineering. King's 15-acre campus is located in a residential area near downtown Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, a medium-size city of more than 50,000 on the banks of the Susquehanna River near the Pocono Mountains. 2.
