Telephone Directory 2021 Millarville Community School Principal’s Message

Thank you for your support of Millarville Community School through the use of this directory. Your support of the advertisers in this directory will not only help our school but also many of the small businesses in our community. A special part of Millarville Community School is their membership in the International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years Programme. We are one of only a handful of Alberta public schools offering this world renowned program and we believe that our students benefit tremendously from this globally minded educational program. Our students come out of the PYP program meeting not only provincial curricular objectives, but also a globally developed standard of excellence. The support of our community is essential to ensure this exceptional program continues to thrive in here in the Foothills Many of the engaging learning opportunities that students are involved in are a direct result of the support from this directory and the many other fundraising initiatives that our community participates in. The many field trips, guest speakers and school events are possible because of the dedication of this community to our school. As well, the equipment that the school has that makes it possible to fully experience the beauty of Kananaskis and the High Country is a result of this support. Cross country skis, snowshoes, camping equipment and orienteering gear allow students to take part in an incredible outdoor education program. We are working to expand our complementary course options as well by further developing our wood shop and robotics programs. We are able to ensure that our students are working with relevant technology to build the skills necessary for them to not only find success but to thrive in life. MCS believes in keeping the small town, open and inviting school feel. We encourage anyone in the community to talk to us and learn more about our programs, students, facility and teachers.
