Introduction: Pearse Murray : SPT Director SWS Summary

• Good progress being made on construction of phase 1. On programme to commission New substation in 2015. • Discharge of planning conditions and conclusion of legal agreements for overhead line routes and substation sites taking longer than anticipated. • Pre-construction and contracting activities continuing in order to facilitate commissioning of Dunhill / Blackhill / Glenglass and Margree collector substations by end March 2017. • Contract placed for 132kV overhead line construction for stages 2 to 4 • Programme requires commencement of site work at Dunhill / Blackhill and Glenglass and OHL tree felling in Q3 2015. • Key risks to programme are discharge of consents, conclusion of wayleaves / leases and extensive construction activities at altitude over winter period. • 9 consented windfarms 14 consents in progress/not consented /refused - 481MW consented and 1011MW yet to achieve consents

• Coylton S/S: All outage works complete.

• Coylton- New Cumnock OHL (WA Route) on schedule for completion of OHL programmed for Q3 2015, 60 % foundations installed / 44% towers erected / 35 % conductor installed.

• New Cumnock S/S on schedule for completion Q3 2015. • Platform/Control Building substantially complete • Civil works progressing well • Electrical installation ongoing • Transformer delivery delayed until March 2015 • On track for completion Q3 2015

• Completion of Stage 1 infrastructure works on schedule for late Q3 2015

• Uprating of Coylton to Kilmarnock Cumnock Ccts. • Current rating 600MVA • New rating 1600MVA • New twin Drake ACCR Conductor • Work over 2015 & 16

• Contract awarded for steel tower overhead line construction. • Contract awarded for tree cutting. • Contracts awarded for 132kV grid transformers. • Contracts awarded for 132kV GIS and 33kV Switchgear. • Access Road and Platform tenders for Dunhill / Blackhill and Glenglass substation in final stages to tender evaluation. • Initial site works to commence in Q3 2015 for OHL works / Tree cutting and substation platform works at Dunhill / Blackhill and Glenglass S/S • Tendering in progress for substation building, cable and civil works packages. • Detailed final electrical design ongoing for all collector substations. • Currently targeting Q1 of 2017 for completion of stages 2-4 connections from Blackhill / Glenglass / Margree.

Kilmarnock South 275kV and 400kV Uprating • Construct new 275kV and 400kV GIS Substation and Installation of a third 1000MVA 400/275kV auto wind transformer • Tender packs released to market for 275kV and 400kV GIS • Transformer tender being prepared • Cable diversion and civil enabling contracts to be tendered Q3 2015 • Anticipate that enabling works will commence end of Q2 2016 • Programme review in conjunction with initial electrical design, detailed construction phasing and outage planning ongoing with a view to generation connection Q4 2018.

Glenglass Double Busbar Substation • At the proposed Glenglass 132kV Substation, install a new 132kV GIS double busbar substation with eight bays. • Target completion date October 2022

Following the completion of the reinforcement works we will have increased the capacity in the SWS area south of Kilmarnock South Substation by 1000MVA firm capacity creating a combined Firm capacity of 2000MVA and 3000MVA non-firm.
