Velcome to the Oldham Bears who arrive here today after an excellent victory last week, and Ianticipate aclosely fought contest over at Graven Park mid-week.

Last Sunday saw us brought down to earth with abump as we contributed in abig way towards our downfall. We cannot afford to make the amount of basic errors (unforced) and expect to win games, especially when playing against the title favourites. But it’s not all doom and gloom because one thing this side does possess is character in large volumes and I'm sure that will emerge today to give both sets of supporters a game worthy of watching.

Hopefully today will see Richard Pachniuk return to face one of his former clubs and I'm sure that both Shaun Irwin and Craig Richards will welcome the chance to renew old acquaintances.

The northern Lord Premiership is proving to be very competitive, who would have thought that Keighley would have won only one game from four. Their side on paper looked very formidable. The problem is Isuppose the fact that the game isn't played on paper. And of course Widnes who everyone predicted to go marching relentlessly forward into Super League appear to be merely scraping through, though in truth it is early days and I'm sure there will be countless upsets and surprises before the final goal is realised.

Anyway enjoy the game and get behind the players as only you know how.

Good afternoon and avery warm welcome to our visitors Oldham. When we last met it was in the Challenge Cup on 30th January 1994, losing at Elland Road 20 -30. Our tries from Burrow Daniel Mwololo and Beath with two Bartliff goals. The last league fixtures between today's teams took place during the 1989/90 season losing away 10-48 with tries to Whittington and Bowden plus goal by Warrener, and at home 14-42 our tries from Warrener and King plus three Lay goals. The last time we actually beat today's opponents was on the 22nd April 1979 at home 36-14. Tries: Cameron (2) Rowe (2), Smith, Standidge, Dean and Hughes with six goals from Parrish. We drew 15-15 at Cldham. Can anyone remember our last victory at Cldham? Well it was way back on the 3rd September 1955 when we won 15-8. Tries: James, Williamson, Hatfield and three Talbot goals!
