The plan at work is an in-depth study encapsulating all sectors of physical, socio- cultural, environment and economy in spatial context. The plan also takes into account issues and constraints related to land use planning in the district and accordingly suggest a more harmonized balanced and sustainable use of land and other natural resources. The project team is greatly indebted to The Executive Director PLUP Mr. Inyatullah Wasimi for spearheading the project. Without his continuous, support it was not possible at all to continue and to successfully complete this project. He has been simply the sole custodian during project upheavals and the project team is highly indebted to his patronage of the project. As this is the first ever exercise of developing in-house district level land use plan. So, on behalf of the planning team, I also deeply acknowledge the continuous support, cooperation and omnipresence of Mr. Adnan Salim—The Project Manager (Spatial Planning & Coordination)/Senior Urban Planner, Urban Policy and Planning Unit. His valuable inputs during conceptualization, data collection, analyses, planning and review stages are truly praiseworthy. The team also deeply appreciative to all other official of PLUP, especially Mr. Mamoor Jan (Assistant Manager Finance) of his uncountable guidance and support make possible to achieve this mile stone. The team also deeply appreciative to all other officials of PLUP, Urban Policy Unit and other line departments for extending their cooperation and support in completion of the Land Use Plan for District Swabi (2019-2039). Within project team, the services rendered by Ms. Fareen Qazi, Deputy Manager GIS PLUP are truly commendable. She has been actively involved in the project right from the inception of the project and provided valuable inputs especially in GIS mapping, review of draft reports and preparation of different presentations during the course of the project. We are also grateful to the efforts of other officials of PLUP for their guidance in conducting Land Use Plan of Swabi. We are also grateful to Plnr. Muhammad Ibrahim and Adnan Bangash Statistical Investigator who contacted with all linked and concerned departments for data collection and GIS mapping and Bibi Nosheen (GIS Assistant) the abilities of work in imagery capturing and field surveys for the data collection, gathering, and preparation of the background report, and GIS work in proposals as well. The active involvement of the member of the team ensured that information used is accurate and complete and that the study process is undertaken in an efficient and very effective manner.
