Of course we offer to a Menu a vegetarian alternative. If you still wish a bigger choice of maincourses (meat, fish, vegetarian), we have to calculate an additional expenditure of 10%.

If you plan on celebrating with a small amount of people you could also choose from our three flawless restaurants. (Baselbieter Stübli, Taverne and Papillon) If you wish to reserve the Baselbieter Stübli exclusively for yourself, we need to have at least CHF 2’500.00 of income for food and beverages. If the minimum of income should not be reached we will charge the difference for our marginal income and use is for the rent and supply costs.

Facts and Figures

When you are celebrating with us, you are centrally located and right next to a special sightseeing point (Törli) of Liestal. Even though our hotel is in the middle of Liestal, you will not miss the charming experience of a rural city. Our modern but also historical and traditional building offers you more than you might expect:

Arrival The centre of Basel will be reached within 10 minutes by train. If you decide to visit Basel by car it only takes you 15 minutes of freeway ride. The airport of Basel will be reached within 30 minutes by car. Parking possibilities: Public car park Engel/ Migros (with direct access to the hotel) Public car park Bücheli (50m away from the hotel)

Prepayment We can demand a prepayment if you plan on doing a bigger event.

Number of people Given that we have to pre-order and produce accordingly to the total number of people, we depend on knowing the exact number of people within 48 hours in advance. (According to our Terms and Conditions, the total number of people will be decisive for the payment)

Cancellation Your confirmed reservation is binding. In case of a cancellation our terms and conditions will take immediate effect.

Tables / Chairs We only offer you rectangular tables. To fill the room with a festive look, we recommend you to rent chair covers. You can easily rent them for CHF 7.00 per chair. If the price of the menu is CHF 45.00, we will set the tables with white tablecloth and table napkins. If the price of the menu is less than CHF 45.00, we will only set the tables with paper tablecloth and regular napkins.

We possess a large variety of technical equipment. Please do not hesitate to ask us. (Price is negotiable)

Menu cards We will print out the menu cards for free in our design and style.

Time management During your event we would like to know when you are planning on taking breaks to ensure a perfect evening.

Menu Our team will pamper you entirely! Your individual wishes and request will be handled with pleasure. If you have any concerns about allergies or vegetarian meals, we are always open to discuss special issues such as allergy or vegetarian meals. Our qualified team is always available for open questions. To ensure quality and freshness it would be the best to order the same menu for all of your guests.

Wine You will find a huge selection of wine in our menu. If you need help to select the right wine, we are there for your assistance. If you are going to choose a wine, which is not listed in our menu, we can of course order the wished wine. If you decide to bring your own wine we will charge you a corkage of CHF 35.00 per bottle.

Children Everyone is welcome at the Hotel Engel – also children! You can easily ask us for further information regarding a kids menu.

Night shift premium After midnight we will charge a night shift premium. (Additional expenses for our employees) CHF 250.00 per hour.

Invoice After your event we will send you the invoice with a deposit slip. You can only pay at the Hotel Engel at that day either with cash or a cash card. Credit cards will only be accepted if it was pre-decided.
