Minimum credits 61 This outline can be used for those transferring into Siena’s Sociology major from Schenectady County Community College only.

Points to keep in mind:

 Students that graduate from SCCC with an A.A. degree in Liberal Arts, Humanities and Social Science, will enter Siena’s Sociology major with Junior status. Junior status is classified as having 54 or more transferable credits at Siena. Please note that a grade of C or better must be obtained in order for the SCCC class to transfer to Siena. Students will need to complete the admissions application process and adhere to the admissions standards and guidelines set forth in the Siena College catalog.

 Any 300-level course must be taken at Siena or another four-year institution.

 Half of your major must be completed at Siena College.

 Students transferring with 24 or more credits are not required to complete Siena’s First Year Seminar (6 credits), however, check with Siena admissions for acceptable substitutions.

 Students are required to complete four Franciscan Concern courses, however substitutions for these courses can be taken at SCCC (for a list of acceptable substitutions please visit the SCCC Curriculum Guideline section on the Siena Transfer Admissions website).

 Additional coursework may qualify, at the discretion of the Assistant Dean.
