Meals - B, D DAY 3 Highlights We climb out of the gorgeous lake valley towards the “Gruppo Brenta” RIVA DEL GARDA TO the westernmost of the Dolomite range. The morning climb is long but not too steep and provides some spectacular views of the lake and the tiny mountain villages. DAY 4 Highlights

PINZOLO TO BOLZANO We’re officially in premier Italian ski country! From Pinzolo (2,296 ft) we climb up through (4,921 ft), a skier’s (and cyclists) Daily Mileage - 65 miles paradise in the heart of the Brenta Dolomites. The gorgeous mountain range is in view at all times with peaks that soar over 9,000 ft, the highest Riding Terrain - Two main climbs being Cima Brenta. Our first official mountain pass of the trip is Carlo (2,990 ft in 10 mi to Passo Carlo Magno (5,518). We’ll stop for photo ops at the top before an amazing Magno and 3,280 ft in 20 mi to Passo descent. At the base we begin our ride through the Valle di Sole (Valley of Mendola); elevation gain 6,918 ft Sun), and climb again up to (2,595 ft). Below you can see the Lago di Giustina, and ride along a lovely ridge covered with orchards of the prized Hotel - Parkhotel Laurin apples through (3,241 ft). Meals - B, D Descending into the lovely valley of Caldaro (1,394 ft), you might think you are in the wine region of Austria, as the landscape suddenly changes from mountains to a soft and embracing quaint landscape of vineyards and tiny villages. From Caldaro, we’ll follow the renowned system of bike paths for which, the great Italian cycling champion, Francesco Moser is largely responsible. The sophisticated bike path system takes seamlessly and safely into the bustling city of Bolzano.

DAY 5 Highlights Today is a day to rest up a bit and stretch other leg muscles, while we BOLZANO REST DAY OR take an easy hike up the Oberbozen (above Bolzano), Renon Plateau HIKE (3,937 ft). With amazing views of the famous Rosengarden, Sciliar and Latemar Dolomite groups we’ll see the mountains through which we will Mileage - 5.6 miles (hike) ride tomorrow. We stop at Kaiserhof, a llama farm, with our friends Walter and Sabine Mayer. After lunch on your own, we descend back to Bolzano. Riding Terrain - Gravel roads Bolzano is filled with great restaurants, and one of the best gelaterie and tracks; elevation gain 588 ft in Italy (and therefore the world). We also visit the South Museum of Archaeology, where, like a time traveler, we will meet Oetzi and his Hotel - See Day 4 artifacts—he has a mummy that dates back to 5,000 years ago!

DAY 6 Highlights

BOLZANO TO Today we’ll be skirting just below the Sciliar and Rosengarden with their dramatic peaks directly above us. We leave Bolzano on the flat bike path, Daily Mileage - 43 miles but the situation soon changes as we climb towards the Val di Tires and up to Passo di Pinei (4,714 ft). After passing through several quirky alpine Riding Terrain - Mountain climbs: towns, we stop for lunch in Santa Cristina Val Gardena, and then it’s another 1,982 ft in 4.8 mi to Fiè allo Sciliar; 10 km until we start the climb to the second pass, Passo di Sella (7,362 ft). 1,306 ft in 3.5 mi to Passo Pinei; A long, steep descent takes us to the little gem of a Sud Tyrolean town of and 3,529 ft in 11.8 mi to Passo Canazei (4,806 ft). DAY 7 Highlights CANAZEI TO CORTINA We cycle along the same passes as Italy’s annual Giro d’Italia. Our first long climb faces the gorgeous Gruppo Sella, then rises above the Passo Pordoi Daily Mileage - 40/53 miles and finally the dramatic Passo Falzarego. This entire area is an outdoor WW1 museum as it is the site where major battles were fought. REST DAY / TRE CIME DI Although today is a designated rest day, we have planned an outing to the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. We will have lunch in a typical Malga just in front of

history is much older. DAY 10 Highlights We leave the Lienzer Dolomiten heading north through the valley next to LIENZ TO ZELL AM SEE the river , approaching the majestic Grossglockner. Insurance Ciclismo Classico will not assume responsibility or liability for any loss or damage of personal effects or for any injury or loss during the duration of the tour. Therefore, we highly recommend that you obtain travel insurance. Information on travel insurance will be sent to you via email once trip deposit is received. We recommend MH Ross, but travelers may choose the insurance carrier of their choice.

Cancellations and Refunds All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing as soon as possible to Ciclismo Classico. Exceptions to their cancellation policy cannot be made for any reason, including weather or personal emergencies. There is no refund for unexpectedly leaving a trip early or arriving late. The purchase of short-term travel insurance policy is strongly recommended. Cancellation fees are determined as follows:

Days before departure – Cancellation fee 121+ days - 50% of the deposit* 91-120 days - 100% of the deposit* 61-90 days - 30% of the trip price 31-60 days - 60% of the trip price 0-30 days - 100% of the trip price

*You may transfer your trip deposit to another departure in the same tour season up to 90 days before your original departure with payment of a $100 per person transfer fee. Prices quoted are subject to adjustment without prior notification. OR your deposit (currently $600) may be carried forward to the following year as a credit toward the final balance of a tour. At the time of booking, we will ask for another $600 deposit to secure your spot. Carried-forward credits expire at the end of the year to which they are applied.
