NBA D-LEAGUE AFFILIATE - CANTON CHARGE

CANTON CHARGE UPDATE: The Canton Charge, the NBA Development League team owned and operated by the Cleveland Cavaliers, presented by SecureData 365, fell to 7-5 after a 96-82 loss to the Maine Red Claws (9-2), 96-82, at the Portland Exposition Building on Sunday evening. The loss snaps Canton’s three-game win streak and gives Maine an early 2-1 lead in this season’s six-game series between the two Atlantic Division foes. Stephen Holt led Canton in scoring with 15 points in 39 minutes. Cleveland Cavaliers assignment Alex Kirk netted 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds in 26 minutes. Justin Johnson scored all 12 of his points in the fourth quarter. The Charge bench combined for 40 points and four blocks. CAVS PLAYERS SURPRISE LOCAL BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS WITH TOYS FOR THE HOLIDAYS DONATED BY CAVS FANS AND MATCHED BY THE CAVS ORGANIZATION: Thanks to another successful Cavs and Monsters Toy Drive, presented by Yonanas – 100% Fruit Soft Serve, hundreds of Northeast Ohio children will have a happier holiday this year. Fans have donated items at Cavs and Lake Erie Monsters games during the annual Toy Drive, and the teams have matched the amount of toys donated to double the number of local families benefitting. All the toys were given to pre-selected non-profit organizations in Northeast Ohio that work with underserved children. Cavs players Lou Amundson, Brendan Haywood and A.J. Price personally handed out toys to approximately 250 kids from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lorain. The players, along with team mascots Moondog and Sir C.C., did so when they hosted the youngsters at Cinemark at Valley View on Tuesday, December 16th. After receiving their new toys from the Cavs, the kids were treated to a special early screening of the new movie “Annie,” thanks to The Owens Group. CAVS HEAD COACH AND TEAM DELIVERING SMILES AND GIFTS TO PATIENTS AT CLEVELAND CLINIC CHILDREN’S: ‘Tis the season to spread holiday cheer and that’s exactly what the Cleveland Cavaliers did on Monday, December 1st. Head Coach David Blatt and the team visited with patients at Cleveland Clinic Children’s. MIKE MILLER FOUNDATION TO DONATE PHILANTHROPIC PROCEEDS TO CLEVELAND CLINIC CHILDREN’S: The Mike Miller Foundation – established by Cleveland Cavaliers’ player Mike Miller – has selected Cleveland Clinic Children's as a beneficiary of its many philanthropic endeavors.
