 Conjuguemos - www.conjuguemos.com  Study Spanish – www.studyspanish.com This is an extensive site for grammar practice. Includes grammar explanations and quizzes.  Duolingo App – www.duolingo.com This is an app you can use on a tablet or phone to practice vocabulary and grammar. The better you do the more challenging it gets! Practices all of the four major skills: listening, speaking, writing, and reading.  Language Zen – www.languagezen.com Language learning program that adapts to every user. Content is selected based on your personal interests and proficiencies. Free and paid subscriptions are available.  Spanish Listening – http://spanishlistening.org/ Free language site that provides over 200 free videos for students to practice their listening and reading skills.  Learn Spanish! - www.lingolex.com/spanish.htm Great for beginners, this site provides some basic everyday vocabulary, common phrases, and the most commonly used verbs. If a student is struggling with vocabulary, this is a great review site.  The Trivia Portal - www.funtrivia.com/dir/355.html This site provides interactive games and activities to help students remember the tricky parts of Spanish. It’s a great way to review Spanish and have fun!  e Learn Spanish Language – Free resources for students, teachers, and lovers of the Spanish language - http://www.elearnspanishlanguage.com/ This site is extremely useful for practice with verb tenses. It provides in-depth verb charts, lessons, help with pronunciation, and grammar. This site would be helpful to students just beginning Spanish or students further along in the learning process.  !Oye! - http://oye.languageskills.co.uk/ Interactive activities for Spanish teachers and students. Start with year 7 and work your way up.  Digital Dialects- http://www.digitaldialects.com/Spanish.htm This site offers activities covering various themes learned in Spanish 1 and Spanish 2. Each game is interactive and allows the student to take a new approach to learning the language. 

OTHER SUGGESTIONS

Read comprehensible stories in Spanish  Read stories submitted by students at www.RevistaLiteral.com. Stories are written for various levels of Spanish learners  E-readers available on your PASSPORT portal. Just log in via Clever, click on the icon for “Resources,” scroll down and take your pick of e-readers for Level 1.  Spanish section at your local library — books for children/young readers are perfect! (“Quién fue” or “Fly Guy” series in Spanish)

Study weekly (especially on long car trips)  Vocabulario packets  Gramática section  Passwords (Contraseñas)  Conversation Questions from each chapter (found in Información section of your binder)

Go to the Chandler Public Library website (http://chandlerlibrary.org/):  Under Research & Learning  Online learning they have free access to the Mango Languages, a language-learning system. To access it you must have a valid Chandler Public library card number and 4-digit PIN.

 Mango Languages is an online language-learning system that teaches Spanish conversational skills. Mango uses real-life situations and actual conversations to more effectively teach a new language. By listening to and repeating after material designed from native conversations, you'll learn the individual words and phrases, as well as how they're used in practical situations and conversations. Learning how to communicate is the focus of this program.

Go to the Tempe Public Library website (https://www.tempepubliclibrary.org/home-library)  Click the center tab “Digital Library”.  In the left-hand, green column expand the Research and Information list and you will see a link to Language Learning. Read about the free language learning resources available to library members. To access, you must have a valid Tempe Public library card barcode number and PIN.  Rocket Languages is another online language-learning system that teaches Spanish via interactive audio, voice recognition software, games, testing, built-in flashcard apps, and much more. It features an app that you can download to any of your devices (must register first using link provided on webpage).

Watch a show in Spanish  Netflix shows such as “El Internado” (TV-PG) — “When strange events begin to occur at an elite boarding school, a group of students uncover dark secrets about its past.”  Disney’s “Violetta”— Violetta tells the story of a musically talented teenager who returns to her native Buenos Aires with her father after living in Europe for several years, navigating the trials and tribulations of growing up.  “Extr@ en español” — A language education television series scripted in the format of a Friends-esque sitcom. http://www.celebratelanguages.com/esextra.html  BBC series “Mi vida loca” — an immersion video mystery set in Spain to help you learn simple Spanish http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/spanish/mividaloca/  Watch some episodes from the Destinos series, a soap opera developed by the Annenberg Foundation to teach Spanish. It can be found free of charge on the Internet at https://www.learner.org/series/destinos-an-introduction-to-spanish/  Turn the dial to Univisión or Telemundo  Watch a favorite movie on DVD and choose the Spanish language option

Visit  Tucson, AZ— “Tucson's rich cultural heritage centers around a unique blend of Native American, Spanish, Mexican and Anglo-American influences. These can be seen in the Hispanic barrios, historical and contemporary American architecture and the prehistoric Native American remnants.” – City of Tucson  Eat Hispanic food at a restaurant and order in Spanish  Go to an exhibit of art from the Hispanic World at the following museums: Phoenix Art Museum, Mesa Art Museum, Heard Museum, Arizona Latino Arts and Cultural Center

Write  Practice writing short paragraphs in Spanish based on specific topics.  Find a pen pal (www.penpalworld.com; www.interpals.net)
