With 14 North Carolina radio stations providing the power in major media markets, the Appalachian ISP Sports Network provides its listeners with innovative radio program- ming surrounding one of America’s premier mid-major athletics programs. ASN produces play-by-play coverage of Appalachian State football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, volleyball, and baseball along with a weekly coaches’ call-in show, entitled Mountaineer Talk. The network’s flagship station is the 100,000 watt Superstation WKBC-FM, 97.3. WKBC’s coverage area includes 45 counties spread over four states: North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. Appalachian alumnus David Jackson is in his eighth year as the play-by-play voice of ASN Radio Affiliates Mountaineer basketball.
