The doors opened at the New Brookland Tavern at 7 p.m. last Friday. About three hours and two opening bands later, The Blood Brothers took to the stage in all of their skinny, angry glory. What ensued was exactly what a live band should be — ferocious, sincere and reasonably familiar. Every now and then, bands that tend to scream a lot in their songs will go live and bear no resemblance to whatever shows up on their albums. Amazingly, the torn vocals of both Johnny Whitney and Jordan Blilie were impressively true to the quality of their album Tarentino, Rodriguez team up vocals.
