The BJP government that we are going to make in Uttar Pradesh will be a government of the poor children and women of the state: Amit Shah

BJP national president Sri Amit Shah addressed the people of Uttar Pradesh on the occasion of the grand celebration to mark Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya’s centennial anniversary at the Deendayal Dham, Farah (Mathura). Speaking at the ceremony, Sri Shah appealed to the people to make a BJP government in the state that would work on the principles of Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya, a government that would be pro-poor and for development. Sri Shah said that it was auspicious that the ceremonies to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya’s birth were inaugurated by the Prime Minister, Sri Narendra Modi ji. He said that the Centre as well as all the BJP-ruled states have decided to observe the year of Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya’s 100th birth anniversary as the Year for Welfare of the Poor — so that the underprivileged can be uplifted and made part of mainstream society.

Sri Shah said that the BJP had become the largest political party in the world, thanks to the fact that Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya was among the party workers who laid its foundation stone. He said when our independence was new, the Congress was in its mid-life and the then government was formulating policies for the country, sages like Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya found that those policies lacked an Indian character, following which would spell doom for the nation, and so the seer Pt Upadhyaya gave an alternative vision to the nation-state. He said that the seed that Pt Upadhyaya had sown as 'Jana Sangh' had turned into a grand banyan tree in form of '' for everybody in the world to see.

Sri Shah said that Pt Upadhyaya had given to the world the ideals of Integral Humanism, Integral Human Philosophy and uplift of the last man. Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya sought Integral Humanism in everything — the body, mind, soul, intellect and the Almighty — and saw human beings, society and nature as parts of a unitary whole, Sri Shah said, adding that mutual consistence, cooperation and union were at the core of Pt Upadhyaya’s economic thinking. In this philosophy, Sri Shah said, there was no mutual conflict between man and society or man and nature; rather these entities bonded together for a shared purpose; there was no mutual rivalry between materialism and spirituality, but a seamless mingling of the two. In fact, Sri Shah said, Pt Upadhyaya did not see even the conscious and the inanimate as separate. The BJP president said that despite being born in a family of humble means, losing both his parents early and thus being deprived of their continuous guidance, Pt Upadhyaya shaped his life steeped in morality, simplicity, intellect and humility. Sri Shah said that Pt Upadhyaya illustrated with his life how to practically lead a spiritual, thoughtful and ideal life in the public space.

Sri Shah said that Pt Upadhyaya brought to the people the philosophy of the Jana Sangh even under adverse circumstances. He said that the philosopher had shown immense courage in shaping an organization based on ideology, which is why crores of workers of the party are today so dedicated and faithful. “It is on the basis of Pt Upadhyaya’s ideals of Integral Humanism and benefit to the last man that the central government led by the Prime Minister, Sri Narendra Modi ji, is working,” he said. The Modi government has demonstrated in the past two-and-a-half years how a pro-poor government must work, Sri Shah said. Enlisting several welfare schemes of the government, Sri Shah said that the BJP government at the Centre launched a programme for the benefit of the poor every 15 days on an average.

Talking of the horrid law-and-order situation in Uttar Pradesh, Sri Shah said that the whole of Uttar Pradesh was convinced that the government of the uncle-nephew duo could not develop the state. The cyclical turn of SP and BSP governments in the state has kept the state backward, the BJP president said, adding that neither had done anything for Uttar Pradesh. Despite all the resources at the state’s disposal, Sri Shah said, neither employment was generated, nor the education system has anything great to write home about, nor is the health system attuned to the needs of the people, nor has any work of development taken place. He asked how long the people of the state were going to continue with this cycle of alternate rule by the SP and BSP. “How long will the people have to tolerate corruption of the BSP and hooliganism of the SP regimes?” Sri Shah asked. It was time, he said, the BJP is given a chance to serve the people of Uttar Pradesh. Sri Shah said that Pt Upadhyaya had established the Jana Sangh for the benefit of all sections of society, which the Prime Minister, Sri Narendra Modi ji, moulded into the motto — "sabka saath, sabka vikas. “The BJP government that we are going to make in Uttar Pradesh will be a government of the poor children and women of the state,” he said. The BJP president said that if the people wanted Uttar Pradesh to progress and turn it into a pre-eminent state with a double-digit growth rate, they must vote the BJP to power. Expressing his gratitude to the dedicated and faithful workers of the Deendayal Dham, Sri Shah said that the place was one of inspiration for the BJP. He appealed to the people of Uttar Pradesh to make such a government in the state that worked on the principles of Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya, facilitating the process of making people realize their dreams and paving the way to the transformation of Uttar Pradesh into a leading state of the country.
