Head coach Jeff Graba has put the Auburn gymnastics program on the map throughout his 10 years on the Plains. Now entering his 11th season at the helm in 2021, Graba and the Tigers are looking to build on their accomplishments to reach bigger feats in the sport.

The Minnesota native was named SEC Coach of the Year in 2014 and 2015 and SEC co-Coach of the Year in 2012.

Most recently, Graba and his staff guided a pair of Tigers to All-America honors in 2020. Drew Watson picked up rst team recognition for her performances on and nished with an NQS of 9.92 in the event to nish in a tie for seventh nationally. Her selection marked the rst All-America honor for a Tiger in the category since 2016.

Derrian Gobourne was placed on the second team for her efforts on bars in 2020. Her All-America honor in the event is the rst for any Tiger on bars at the conclusion of the regular season. Gobourne nished tied for 14th nationally with a 9.905.

The 2020 squad enjoyed a wealth of accomplishments throughout the season, including a win over Alabama in Auburn Arena to kick off the home schedule.

Auburn’s performances in 2019 was one for the books as the squad reached the sport’s rst-ever Sweet Sixteen and nished 16th in the nal rankings. Auburn reached the second round of the NCAA Regional Championship with a 197.075 in Baton Rouge, marking the highest NCAA Regional score in program history.

The program saw its rst national champion in 2019 when Gobourne came in a tie for rst at that 2019 National Championship on vault. The then-freshman scored a career-best 9.95, picking up All-America honors along the way. In addition, Gobourne earned All-SEC and Freshman All-SEC recognition and Samantha Cerio secured SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year for the sport. Minnesota, ‘92 Alabama in February of that season, defeating the Crimson Tide at home (197.275-197.250). Auburn also defeated Georgia in Athens ...... NCAA Super Six ...... 1 That season, Auburn broke or tied 52 program records that season. Auburn’s sixth place nish at the Super Six was the Tigers’ second best in history and highest since 1993 with a NCAA nationals record score of 197.075. The Tigers also had a program record Super Six score of 195.625. COACHING RECORD In nine seasons, Graba has led his student-athletes to 15 All-America honors (both NACGC/W and NCAA) and 19 All-SEC recognitions. 2020^ 7-7 Leading the way was Caitlin Atkinson who amassed nine All-America nods and named SEC Gymnast of the Year in 2016. 2019 12-12 2018 9-18 With the help of continuous progress, Graba and the Tigers have enjoyed growth when it comes to home attendance each season. Each 2017 5-17-1 season, the team’s attendance average has climbed higher and higher and after averaging just 3,583 fans in his rst season, Auburn 2016* 17-18-1 nished the 2020 season with a new program record average of 6,364 fans. In addition, the Tigers have enjoyed 10 sellouts of Auburn 2015*! 17-16 Arena (7,424). 2014 8-14

2013 12-13 Away from competition, Graba’s teams have also been outstanding in the classroom. In total, the Tigers have totaled 45 NACGC/W Scholastic All-America nods and 93 SEC Academic Honor Roll recognitions. 2012 8-19 2011 8-14 Graba was named Auburn head coach on August 16, 2010. He came to The Plains after spending ve years as an assistant coach at Utah. While with the Utes, he earned the 2009 West Region Assistant Coach of the Year while coaching bars, collaborating on oor * - NCAA Championship routines and serving as the recruiting coordinator. ! - NCAA Super Six ^- Season cut short because of COVID-19 During his rst four years as an assistant, Utah nished as the NCAA runner-up three times and placed third once. Graba has also coached nine NCAA All-American gymnasts to 20 All-America performances.

Prior to his stint at Utah, Graba spent two years as an assistant coach at Utah State. In 2005, he coached the Aggies to their rst Western Gymnastics Conference championship and their rst regional appearance in three years.

From 1995-2003, Graba was the co-owner and head coach of Midwest Gymnastics Club in Arden Hills, Minn.

Graba’s collegiate coaching career began at Hamline University from 1992-98. While in St. Paul, Minn., his highlights included six-consec- utive trips to the Division III National Championships and a runner-up nish in 1996.

Graba is a native of Forest Lake, Minn., and graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in economics and earned his M.B.A. from Salem International University in 2011. He and his wife, Bridget, have ve children: Bryan, Jaymie, Jason, Kyla and Shayla.

The 2021 season will be Kurt Hettinger’s 13th as an assistant coach for the Tigers, serving as the recruiting coordinator, bars coach, and assists on oor and vault.

During his time with at Auburn, Hettinger has been recognized multiple times for his efforts in the program’s continuous growth. In 2015, he was named the NCAA Assistant Coach of the Year. Hettinger was also selected as the NCAA Central Region Assistant Coach of the Year in 2011 and 2019.

This past season, Hettinger coached Auburn’s Derrian Gobourne to Second Team All-America honors on bars. That recognition marked the rst time a Tiger has earned the national honor in the event at the conclusion of the regular season. Gobourne also received All-SEC recognition in the event and nished with a 9.905 NQS overall.

In 2018, Hettinger guided Samantha Cerio to her second-straight appearance on bars at the NCAA Championships as an individual. In addition, Cerio picked up her second All-SEC recognition on the apparatus in as many years.

At the 2017 SEC Championship, a pair of Tigers captured All-SEC recognition on bars - Emma Engler, Cerio.

As the program’s primary recruiter, Hettinger has helped Auburn bring in some of the top recruiting classes in the nation on a consistent basis.

In the gym, Hettinger’s expertise on bars has shown through the continued progress of the program. Four of Auburn’s top ve bars scores have come with him at the helm of the apparatus, including a program-record 49.600 in 2019. In addition, four of the program’s best individual scores have come under Hettinger, including Caitlin Atkinson’s and Gracie Day’s 9.975 in 2015 and 2019, respectively.

During his tenure, Hettinger’s bars corps has nished each regular season among the nation’s top 25. In 2016, Auburn nished eighth nationally with a 49.295 RQS score.

Since Hettinger has been on The Plains, the Auburn program has grown to be one of the nation’s top gymnastics teams. In the last two seasons, Auburn has reached the NCAA Championships twice, including a Super Six appearance in 2015. The Tigers also picked up its rst NCAA Regional win, taking the 2016 Ann Arbor Regional as the top-ranked team in that meet.

Hettinger came to Auburn after a ve-year stint at Kent State as an assistant coach. He served as the head bars coach while assisting with technique on vault and oor. Hettinger played an integral role in Kent State’s three NCAA Regional Championship appearances, two MAC Championship titles and three-consecutive regular-season titles.

Prior to Kent State, Hettinger spent ve years at the Champaign County YMCA, assisting with the development of the junior boys program, shaping Class VI through Elite level gymnasts. A two-time member of the USAG Region V Junior Elite Boys Team Coaching Staff, he guided former University of Illinois standout Jon Drollinger to the top of the junior ranks, which included competition in oor, still rings and all-around nals at the 2001, 2002 and 2003 Junior Olympic National Championships.

Hettinger was a four-year letter-winner with the University of Illinois gymnastics team from 1996-99, helping the Fighting Illini to a third-place nish at the 1998 NCAA Men’s Gymnastics Championships.

A native of Tuscola, Ill., Hettinger graduated from the University of Illinois in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in history. He earned a master’s degree in education from Kent State in 2005. Hettinger and his wife, Katherine, were married in July 2006, and they have three children, one son, Cameron, and two daughters, Audrey and Elise.

The 2021 season will be Ashley Johnston’s third as assistant coach for the Auburn program. She handles beam instruction as well as choreography, while assisting with recruiting.

In her rst season with the Tigers in 2019, Johnston helped guide the squad to a second place nish during the SEC regular season, a program-best score of 197.075 at the NCAA Regional and assisted in the team’s rst-ever national champion.

For her efforts, Johnston was named NCAA Central Region Assistant Coach of the Year.

Johnston comes to the Plains after spending 2018 at Illinois. While with the Fighting Illini, her primary role was coaching and choreographing beam and assisting with recruiting. In addition, she handled all apparel and travel for Illinois.

Prior to her season spent at Illinois, Johnston was a coach at the Cincinnati Gymnastics Academy. She assisted CGA head coach Mary Lee Tracy at the elite level and developmental level, while coaching the oor and beam optional program.

Before entering the coaching side of the sport, Johnston was an elite gymnast on both the collegiate and international stage.

Johnston helped Team USA win a silver medal at the 2006 World Championships, while also winning a gold and silver medal at the 2006 World Cup in France. She competed at the international level from 2003-07 before going the college route at Alabama.

A native of Wheaton, Ill., Johnston was a 10-time All-American and helped Alabama win back-to-back NCAA Championships in 2011 and 2012. The Tide also earned two SEC Champion- ships in 2009 and 2011 with Johnston on the team. Individually, she earned ve NCAA Regional titles and two SEC titles.

Away from competition, Johnston earned the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, was president of Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and winner of the Paul Bryant Award.

Johnston earned her bachelor’s degree in Spanish in 2011 and went on to get a master’s degree in Marketing in 2013.

Former Auburn gymnast Brittany Webster was named volunteer coach in November 2020.

Webster will have a wealth of responsibilities for the Tigers. She will assist on every event this season, providing depth on the coaching roster during this COVID-19 season. In addition, Webster will provide assistance in oor choreography, practice and event management planning, conditioning workouts and with travel.

Webster returns to the Plains after spending the last season as volunteer coach for Michigan State. There, she helped coach two Spartans to All-Big Ten recognition and was instrumental in coaching the squad to a No. 32 national ranking at the end of the season.

Webster assisted with the development and organization of practice and conditioning plans. She also worked closely with beam and oor choreography and aided in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes.

In addition, Webster assisted in the marketing and promotion of the program through social media and was instrumental in the creation of the MSU student section – the Spartan Vault.

Prior to Michigan State, Webster was the head coach and program director at Cypress Pointe Gym in Louisiana. There, she developed, implemented, and modi ed training and strength programs for Pre-Team, Xcel and JO Levels 1-10. She coached multiple Top 10 nishers at region- al competitions as well as multiple Top 25 nishers at JO Nationals.

Webster is a 2015 Auburn graduate, earning her degree in public relations. She was a four-year member of the Auburn gymnastics team and played a role in Auburn’s run to the 2015 Super Six.

While on the Plains as a student-athlete, Webster helped the 2015 Tigers set a program record in overall score (197.750) and defeat seven Top 10 teams throughout the season.

Webster was a member of the 2014 All-SEC team ( oor) and was a two-time NACGC/W All-Scholastic honoree.

Dawn Schueller will be entering her 10th season as Director of Operations for the Auburn gymnastics program in 2021 after joining the program in July 2011.

Schueller’s responsibilities include serving as a liaison between the coaches and athletic department administrators, former Auburn gymnasts and the Auburn community. She also handles day-to-day responsibilities in the gymnas- tics of ce, works with assistant coach Kurt Hettinger in coordinating the Auburn Gymnastics Summer Camp and assisting with team budget, team travel, team meals and various other operational tasks.

Schueller previously served as a volunteer coach at Auburn from 2005-11. From 2005-07, she worked as the volunteer strength and conditioning coach and then worked as a volunteer coach for the next three seasons.

Schueller and her husband, Bob, reside in Auburn and have three children, Jake, Rebecca and Eric. In addition, Jake married wife Melissa in 2016 and the couple have two daughters, Evelyn and Frances.

Anna Peterson is in her first season with the Auburn gymnastics team and her in her second year with the Auburn Athletics department.

Prior to joining the ALLEN GREENE MONIQUE HOLLAND gymnastics program, Director of Athletics SWA / Sport Administrator Peterson served the Auburn soccer program for a year. Before that, Peterson served a year-long internship working with both the soccer and gymnastics team for the 2018-19 season.

Prior to her career in athletic training, Peterson KENDRA WILLARD ANDREW AARON worked in healthcare administration and business development with a focus on data analytics and community health awareness. During her graduate school education, Communications Video Peterson worked closely with the football teams at Vanderbilt University and Northwestern University providing on and off the field prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries. She also completed a summer internship with the Carolina Panthers in 2017.

Peterson earned a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology from The University of Illinois at Chicago in 2012. She went on to earn a Master of Business and Administration (MBA) from Lewis University in 2015, followed by a Master of Science in athletic training from Lenoir-Rhyne University in 2018 where she also served as the president of the Athletic Training Student Organization.
