Rabbit Anti-Human/Mouse/Rat Karyopherin alpha 1 Nucleoprotein interactor 1 ( alpha 5, IPOA5, RCH2, SRP1, NPI -1)

Instruction Manual

Catalog Number PK-AB718-5981 Synonyms KPNA1 Antibody: Karyopherin alpha 1 Nucleoprotein interactor 1, Importin alpha 5, IPOA5, RAG cohort 2, RCH2, SRP1, NPI-1 Description Karyopherin, a cytosolic and heterodimeric protein complex consisting of alpha and beta subunits, is responsible for targeting with nuclear localization signals to the nuclear pore complex by an energy requiring, Ran-dependent mechanism. The alpha subunit and imported substrate enter the nucleus and accumulate in the nucleoplasm, while the beta subunit accumulates at the NPC. KPNA1, also known as importin alpha 5, is the alpha subunit of karyopherin, which forms a complex with importin subunit beta-1 and functions in nuclear protein import as an adapter protein for nuclear receptor KPNB1. It is ubiquitously expressed and polyubiquitinated in the presence of RAG1. KPNA1 interacts with various virus nucleoproteins, including those of Ebola and influenza. Quantity 100 µg Source / Host Rabbit Immunogen KPNA1 antibody was raised against a 15 amino acid synthetic peptide near the amino terminus of human KPNA1. Purification Method Affinity chromatography purified via peptide column. Clone / IgG Subtype Polyclonal antibody Species Reactivity Human, Mouse, Rat Specificity Formulation Antibody is supplied in PBS containing 0.02% sodium azide. Reconstitution During shipment, small volumes of antibody will occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial. For products with volumes of 200 μl or less, we recommend gently tapping the vial on a hard surface or briefly centrifuging the vial in a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container’s cap. Storage & Stability Antibody can be stored at 4ºC for three months and at -20°C for up to one year. As with all antibodies care should be taken to avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. Antibodies should not be exposed to prolonged high temperatures. Applications E, WB, ICC, IF |Note: Antibody might be suitable for other applications not tested so far. Optimal concentrations for each application have to be determined indivudually. KPNA1 antibody can be used for detection of KPNA1 by Western blot at 1 µg/mL. Antibody can also be used for immunocytochemistry starting at 2.5 µg/mL. For immunofluorescence start at 20 µg/mL. Images Available upon request. References Moroianu J.
