Texas Realtors announce candidate support for 2020 general election
AUSTIN – Sept. 9, 2020 –The Texas Realtors Political Action Committee, the political arm of Texas Realtors, announced the slate of candidates receiving its support in the November general election.
TREPAC Chairman Tony Lloyd commended the candidates for their commitment to protecting private-property rights.
“Texas Realtors proudly supports these candidates because they are committed to protecting the rights of Texas property owners and ensuring Texas remains a great place to buy, sell, and lease real estate,” Lloyd said. “We expect the 87th Texas Legislature to address several issues relevant to real estate consumers, and we are looking forward to working with lawmakers on behalf of property owners in our state.”
Texas Realtors advocate for homeowners and private-property rights by supporting efforts including property tax reform in 2019, prohibiting sales taxes on real estate in 2015, passing consumer protections against unscrupulous property-tax lenders in 2013, and eliminating most private transfer fees on real estate transactions in 2011.
