The Scourging at the Pillar: Pilate has Jesus whipped. Fruit of the Mystery: Purity
Third Sorrowful Mystery:
The Crowning with Thorns: Roman soldiers crown Jesus' head with thorns. Fruit of the Mystery: Courage
The Fourth Sorrowful Mystery:
The Carrying of the Cross: Jesus meets His mother and falls three times on the way up Calvary. Fruit of the Mystery: Patience
The Fifth Sorrowful Mystery:
The Crucifixion: Jesus is nailed to the cross and dies before His mother and His apostle John. Fruit of the Mystery: Perseverance
Joyful Mysteries (Mondays & Saturdays)
First Joyful Mystery:
The Annunciation: The Archangel Gabriel announces to Mary that she shall conceive the Son of God. Fruit of the Mystery: Humility
Second Joyful Mystery:
The Visitation: Mary visits her cousin Elizabeth, who is pregnant with John the Baptist. Fruit of the Mystery: Love of Neighbor
Third Joyful Mystery:
The Nativity: Jesus is born. Fruit of the Mystery: Poverty
Fourth Joyful Mystery:
The Presentation: Mary and Joseph present Jesus in the Temple where they meet Simeon. Fruit of the Mystery: Obedience
Fifth Joyful Mystery:
The Finding in the Temple: After losing Him, Mary and Joseph find young Jesus teaching the Rabbis in the Temple. Fruit of the Mystery: Joy in Finding Jesus
Glorious Mysteries (Wednesdays & Sundays)
First Glorious Mystery:
The Resurrection: Jesus rises from the dead. Fruit of the Mystery: Faith
Second Glorious Mystery:
The Ascension: Jesus leaves the Apostles and bodily ascends to heaven. Fruit of the Mystery: Hope
Third Glorious Mystery:
The Descent of the Holy Spirit: The Apostles receive the Holy Spirit in tongues of fire in the upper room with Mary. Fruit of the Mystery: Love of God
Fourth Glorious Mystery:
The Assumption: Mary is taken bodily--assumed--into heaven by God at the end of her life here on earth. Fruit of the Mystery: Grace of a Happy Death
Fifth Glorious Mystery
The Coronation: Mary is crowned Queen of Heaven and Earth. Fruit of the Mystery: Trust in Mary's Intercession
Luminous Mysteries (Thursdays)
First Luminous Mystery:
The Baptism in the Jordan: The voice of the Father declares Jesus the beloved Son. Fruit of the Mystery: Openness to the Holy Spirit
Second Luminous Mystery:
The Wedding at Cana: Christ changes water into wine, his first public miracle. Fruit of the Mystery: To Jesus through Mary
Third Luminous Mystery: The Proclamation of the Kingdom: Jesus calls to conversion and forgives the sins of all who draw near to him. Fruit of the Mystery: Repentance and Trust in God
Fourth Luminous Mystery: The Transfiguration: The glory of the Godhead shines forth from the face of Christ. Fruit of the Mystery: Desire for Holiness
Fifth Luminous Mystery:
The Institution of the Eucharist: Jesus offers the first Mass at the Last Supper with his apostles, establishing the sacramental foundation for all Christian living. Fruit of the Mystery: Adoration
