Schwartz Resigns from NYRA Board: Barry K. Schwartz, the former chairman of the New York Racing Association, has resigned from the NYRA Board of Directors, according to Daily Racing Form. Schwartz had been on the NYRA Board for 11 years. He was the chairman from 2000 until 2004, when he stepped down. Charles Hayward assumed that position following Schwartz. “My views on racing in New York are very different from the views of the current man- agement,” the 63-year-old Schwartz told DRF.
