Working Vermonters Caucus Lt.Gov. David Zuckerman

Sen. Anthony Pollina Sen. Dick McCormack STATE OF Sen. Chris Pearson GENERAL ASSEMBLY Sen. Mark MacDonald Rep. John Bartholomew LEGISLATIVE WORKING VERMONTERS CAUCUS Rep. Sue Buckholz Rep. May 9, 2018 Rep. Robin Chesnut-Tangerman Rep. Kevin “Coach” Christie Dear President Judy and Chancellor Spaulding, Rep. Rep. Our caucus has become aware that CCV administration is in contract Rep. Dan Connor negotiations with the 538 faculty who have recently voted with overwhelming Rep. Sarah Copeland-Hanzas support for their union. Rep. Joey Donovan, Co-Chair

Rep. We are writing to urge you to settle a fair contract with the faculty that builds Rep. in a sense of real job security and meaningful wage increases. It is our belief Rep. that our state college system should aim to provide the highest quality Rep. Rep. Matt Hill education possible for our students. A major way to ensure that quality is to Rep. treat the faculty educating our students with the utmost respect. Rep. Rep. Mary Howard As we all know, currently faculty members are hired (or not) on a semester Rep. basis. All they want and need is to be able to know, that unless they are not Rep. reappointed for Just Cause like all other union groups, they can expect to Rep. Terry Macaig have work from semester to semester. This would cost the admin nothing Rep. Curt McCormack except some flexibility and control. Rep. Frances Topper McFaun Rep. Also, the faculty at CCV, a sister college of the other VSC schools, are paid Rep. Jean O’Sullivan significantly less than their colleagues at Castleton, Lyndon, Johnson and Rep. Paul Poirier VTC. They naturally seek parity with their peers. Rep. Tom Stevens Rep. The Legislative Workers Caucus stands with the faculty at CCV in their Rep. efforts around job security and meaningful wage increases. Rep. Mary Sullivan Rep. Tom Terenzini Rep. Sincerely, Rep. Rep. Rep. Rep. Rep. Theresa Wood Representatives and Johanna Donovan Rep. Rep. Cindy Weed, Co-Chair Rep.
