Good afternoon to the Port Support and a warm welcome to the players a nd officials of our visitors Lochee Harp who, like ourselves, triump hed in an away Scottish Cup replay last weekend .

At the end of the day only one goal separated ourselves and Larkhall Thistle over the two games. I don't think that a 2-1 aggregate score was a true reflection over the two encounters. I felt that Larkhall rode their luck on numerous occasions in the first game. We missed quite a few scoring opportunities and had a couple of penalty claims turned down . I felt they left with what they came for. Even when we C)T. MI CliAEL0 INN went to ten men they continued to play for time . I must say that I felt our first half performance and attitude was very pedestrian Leucharcl\• fly 6l. /\ndrews • f ife KY16 0DU but, to the players credit, I could not fault their second half effo rts.

Tel: (01334) 839220 • fax. (01334) 838299 Larkhall' s manager's comment after the replay was that he was disappointed and that there was very little between the sides. I Propri~Lors: Crahame 0 t)renda McKinney would, of course, have to disagree. I felt that we played well on a difficult pitch. We had a job to do and carried it out. We created a good amount of chances and if there had been a Man of the Match award I'm sure their goalkeeper would have been one of the favourites. Apart from their goal they never really threatened. One very pleasing aspect was our forwards' performance. Both DR and Rossy MEALS SERVED ALL DAY looked much more like themselves. They worked well together and received the right type of service. A good team performance.

We must now attempt to build on that display. There ' s no better 12 - 9.30 opportunity than this afternoon. Complacency is a word I don't want to be using after today's Taycars tie. Unfortunately, in the past Last orders 9.15 we've tended to be just that the week after a Scottish Cup tie. There ' s an old saying - A job wel 1 begun is a job half done . Let's get our attitude correct from the first whistle . Do so then I ' m confident we ca n progress in this competition.

HIGH TEAS SUNDAY ONLY COMME~T

3-7 Whilst there 's no doubting that the Sporting Post is still a must on Saturday nights and undoubtedly has improved in recent times as far as Junior Football is concerned. _it can improve further . Both its equivalent publ ications in Abe_rdeen and Edinbu_rgh list the respective teams for the matches which they report and this adds a certain interest to a ALWAYSADVISABLE TO TO BOOK match report , certainly if it's a match which hasn't many goals . It's not suggested that the line-ups appear for all games, but perhaps a selected half dozen of the reports of the top matches could be accompanied with the respective line-ups . The respective reporters are getting the line-ups before the game anyway and these could be phoned in _prior _to the kick - off in the same way as the half - time and full-time reports are phoned in . With the HIGH TEAS AVAILABLE TO COACH kick - offs at Junior games being a minimum of thirty minute s earlier than the _ Seniors, _It shou ldn 't cause the co py takers many problems .
