10 NUMS-MDCAT

NUMS-MDCAT is MANDATORY as per PM&DC Regulations, for candidates resident of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), AJ&K and Gilgit & Baltistan, Who are interested to seek admission in MBBS/BDS program in Public Medical/Dental colleges of above mentioned Areas.

11 NUMS-MDCAT

•NUMS-MDCAT is Mandatory for all applicants , who are interested to seek admission in Army Medical college(AMC) Rawalpindi.

• Who can apply for Admission in AMC? All those who have the valid citizenship of Pakistan, including AJ&K and Gilgit &Baltistan.

12 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA for appearing in NUMS-MDCAT • Minimum 60% aggregate marks F.Sc (Pre-Medical) or equivalent.

• Candidates of O&A level or equivalent qualification, equivalence certificate from Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) office.

• All Pakistani Nationals.

13 ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

Applicants desirous for admission in private Medical/Dental Colleges of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), AJ&K and NUMS Affiliated Colleges may also apply for admissions on the basis of any regional/provincial, Medical/Dental, Entry Test 2018.

14 AGE LIMIT AND NO OF CHANCES

• As per PMDC regulations, there is NO AGE LIMIT and BAR on appearing in NUMS-MDCAT for admission to medical / dental institutions.

• Provincial and Federal Admission Test is held once a year. Test result is valid for only one year.

15 CENTERS for NUMS-MDCAT Entry Test (NUMS-MDCAT) will be conducted through NTS in following cities (depending on the strength of applicants i.e. minimum 200 per center):

Islamabad (ICT)

Punjab: Rawalpindi, Kharian, Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Bahawalpur.

Sindh: Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur.

KPK: Abbottabad, Peshawar, Dera Ismail Khan.

Baluchistan: Quetta and Gawadar.

AJ&K: Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Gilgit, 16 CHOICE/SELECTION OF CITY FOR THE TEST

The candidate can select one of the cities from where he/she wishes to appear in the Admission Test.

17 FORMAT OF NUMS-MDCAT

One paper containing 180 MCQs – four options with single best answer – divided into Four Sections, namely: • Composition of MCQs: • Biology = 70 • Chemistry = 45 • Physics = 45 • English = 20 • Detailed Syllabus is uploaded on NUMS website, www.numspak.edu.pk

18 DURATION & MARKS OF ADMISSION TEST

• The duration of the test shall be 180 minutes (3 hours) and the total marks shall be 180.

• There shall be No Negative Marking in the test.

• Additional details and guidelines regarding filling of Answer Sheets are available at www.numspak.edu.pk /www.nts.org.pk.

19 PASS MARKS

As per PMDC Regulations, there shall be NO PASS MARKS in the Admission Test. No candidate shall be declared Pass or Fail. Instead, total marks obtained by a candidate shall be declared.

20 HOW TO APPLY • Entry Test (NUMS-MDCAT)2018 registration shall be online. The candidate needs not to go anywhere to get the application form.

• For Entry Test (NUMS-MDCAT) 2018, please visit www.numspak.edu.pk and click www.nts.org.pk. • For Entry Test link to fill the Application Form.

• Than candidate can submit his/her application by clicking the submit button.

• Upon successful submission of application, the candidate will be able to print NUMS Entry Test – 2018 fee challan .

21 HOW TO APPLY

• The candidate is required to visit nearest branch of Habib Bank Ltd. (country wide) to deposit Entry Test Fee, 3000 rupees and send the paid “NUMS Copy” of challan form to NTS at Plot No. 96, Street No. 4, Sector H-8/1, Islamabad before 29th October 2018

• NTS will dispatch Roll No Slips to all the eligible candidates through courier/Registered Mail and also inform through SMS and website.

22 HOW TO APPLY • NUMS Entry Test is mandatory for all Pakistani candidates, who are interested to seek admissions in Public sector Medical/Dental colleges( Whose NUMS is a Admitting University) except foreign nationality, dual nationality holder and overseas residents who have physically studied and passed SSC and HSSC or equivalent from outside Pakistan during their stay abroad and having a certificate from the institution last attended, for admissions .

• Entry Test Fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

23 INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPEARING IN NUMS- MDCAT •Candidates are required to bring the printed admit cards to the test center along with original CNIC or Form” B” or an original document with photograph like; passport, etc for his/her personal identification.

24 SCHEDULE OF MDCAT 2018 REGISTRATION

• The candidates can register online for MDCAT from 15TH October, 2018. The registration will be closed after 3p.m. on 29th October 2018.

• For submission of fee for MDCAT-2018, the collection services shall be available at the counters of Habib Bank Limited (HBL) branches all over Pakistan from 09:00 am to 05:00 pm, 15th October, 2018 (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Gazetted Holidays).

25 IMPORTANT •The web link will be active from 8 am, 15th October, 2018. •Don’t try to access before that. •Online Registration is only possible on Desktop/Laptop. It cannot be done on Mobile Phone.

26 VERY IMPORTANT

The Mobile Numbers, E-mail and Postal Address provided in the online Application Form should be entered correctly and they should be functional in all ways as the SMS, E- mail alerts and Courier regarding allotted Roll Numbers and Examination Centres shall be sent to these mobile numbers, E-mail and Postal addresses.

27 ON THE DAY OF THE ADMISSION TEST

• Admission Test will start exactly at 10 A.M. on Sunday,18th November 2018. • Candidates should reach their respective Centre at 9 A.M. i.e., at-least one hour before the commencement of the test. • Examination Centers will be sealed/closed at 09:30 A.M. • No candidate will be allowed to enter the Examination Centre after 09:30 A.M.

28 WHAT TO BRING

The candidates must bring the following documents with them on the test day without which they will NOT be allowed to sit the test: a) Print out of Admittance Card. b) Original Form B / Passport / CNIC / Original NADRA token slip with any Valid Government document having photograph.

29 WHAT TO BRING

• Every candidate must bring with him/her: (i) A clean, hard Clip Board without any marks or written material (ii) Two good quality Blue ball point pens (Not Pencils , Pointers or Markers)

30 WHAT NOT TO BRING

• Following are strictly prohibited: a. Calculator b. Cell Phones c. Books / Notes d. Weapons / Arms • Penalty : Immediate removal of the candidate from the Centre with cancellation of paper.

31 HOW SHALL I MARK THE ANSWER SHEET?

• Write Your Name, Father’s Name, Roll Number etc (if required) on the answer sheet.

• Read the directions carefully before you begin your test.

• Each question has maximum five choices and minimum two. You are required to choose the correct choice for every question and fill the corresponding oval with a pen on the answer sheet.

32 HOW SHALL I MARK THE ANSWER SHEET?

• The invigilator announces the procedure of marking the answer sheets. Listen carefully to the instructions. When you mark the answer sheets, make sure that the space is completely filled in. • Use Pen for marking the Answer Sheets. • Do not mark more than one answer. • If a question is found with no answer or it has more than one marked choice, it is not considered for marking.

33 HOW SHALL I TAKE TEST?

Sit on your seat and wait for the time of the test. Make sure that you do not have any objectionable material. The invigilators will give you the question book and answer sheets. Fill in the essential information in the blank columns of answer sheet. While attempting to answer questions read the choices in each question and mark the corresponding space on the answer sheet. Do keep the time aspect in mind. You would not be given extra time.

34 WHAT ARE THE RULES AND REGULATIONS THAT ARE APPLIED TO ME INSIDE THE TEST CENTER? • The test is given on the day and at the time scheduled. You are asked to observe punctuality. • You are assigned a seat by the invigilation staff. • Cheating material or anything which is prohibited by NTS is strictly not allowed to be taken inside the test center. If you are found with any of these items with you during the test you are not allowed to take the examination and be considered disqualified. • You are not allowed to eat, drink, or use tobacco during the test. • If you do not show the Roll No. Slip and original CNIC / Valid Passport, and your photograph does not match, you are not permitted to take the test.

35 WHAT ARE THE RULES AND REGULATIONS THAT ARE APPLIED TO ME INSIDE THE TEST CENTER?

• No discussion or communication with the fellow candidates is allowed during the test session. • You are also not allowed to leave Test Center without the permission of the supervisor. • Under no circumstances the test questions or any part of a test be removed, reproduced or disclosed verbally, electronically, or physically or by any other means to any person or entity. • Test centers do not have large waiting areas. Friends or relatives who accompany you to the test center are not permitted to wait in the near vicinity of the test center or contact you while you are taking the test.

36 WHAT ARE THE RULES AND REGULATIONS THAT ARE APPLIED TO ME INSIDE THE TEST CENTER? • It is must for all students to stay in examination hall till completion of paper. • On completion of paper keep on sitting on your seats till Answers sheets are collected by Invigilation staff and permitted to leave the hall. • Repeated unscheduled breaks will be documented and reported to NUMS/NTS™. • NUMS/NTS™ reserves the right to videotape any or all of the testing sessions. • Dress in such a way that you can adapt to any room temperature.

37 WHAT ARE THE RULES AND REGULATIONS THAT ARE APPLIED TO ME INSIDE THE TEST CENTER?

• You cannot communicate with anyone (other than the test center staff) while the test session is in progress or even during the breaks. • You are not permitted to leave the test center vicinity during the test session or breaks. • If at any time during the test you believe that you have a problem with your test, or need the Invigilation Staff for any reason, raise your hand to notify the Invigilation Staff.

38 ON WHAT BASIS CAN I BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THE TEST? If you are found indulged in any of the following activities he / she is disqualified from the test: • Arriving late at the test center. • Taking the test for someone else. • Failing to provide the Roll No. Slip. • Failing to provide original CNIC / Valid Passport, (Less than 18 years of age candidates must bring Original B.Form and SSC Certificate with photograph at the test center). • Using any objectionable material during the test.

39 SELF-SCORING SYSTEM (SSS)

• The candidates will be required to mark their answers on a double sheeted Response Form. The candidate will mark answers on the upper colored sheet which will be automatically transferred on the lower, carbonized sheet. At the end of the Test, the upper sheet will be collected by the invigilation staff whereas the candidate will be allowed to take lower carbonized sheet with him/her.

• The University will display the answer keys to the question papers of all the codes on its website www.numspak.edu.pk/ www.nts.org.pk. on next working day i.e.19th Nov 2018.

40 SELF-SCORING SYSTEM (SSS)

• Once the keys are released, the candidates can calculate their score themselves on the carbonized copy of Response Form with the help of concerned key. • The official provisional result of the Test shall be declared by the University on 22nd Nov 2018. It shall be displayed on the university website www.numspak.edu.pk/ www.nts.org.pk.

41 QUERIES •If there is a query in the result on the basis of difference in carbon copies and Official Provisional Result. •Students should contact on www.nts.org.pk on 23rd and 24th Nov 2018 to register their queries. •NTS will take two days (26th and 27th) in resolving the queries. •Final result will be up loaded on 28th Nov 2018.

42 ADMISSION PROCESS

•The admission process for the session 2018-19 will start on 28th Nov 2018. •It will be advertised separately.

43 WEIGHTAGE FORMULA As per Pakistan Medical and Dental Council Regulations, the merit of an applicant shall be worked out by adding the marks in following ratio:

• Matriculation (SSC) / Equivalent – 10% • Intermediate (Pre-Medical)/Equivalent – 40% • Admission Test – 50%

44 Note: • Mere appearance in NUMS Entry Test 2018 does not confer the right to claim admission to any medical/dental institution.

For Programs of Allied Health Sciences: • Result of NUMS Entry test will be applicable for admission in BS programmes of Allied Health Sciences programs (Cardiac Perfusion and Medical Lab Technology)
