New Owner of Airline Serving Lancaster Changes Name, Adds Larger Aircraft New Branding Unveiled at Reception, Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony, and Press Conference

Southern Airways Express, the new parent company of , the commuter airline that has been servicing Lancaster Airport for the last two and a half years, an- nounced the retirement of the Sun Air Express brand in the Mid-Atlantic region. The rebranding ceremony took place at Lancaster Airport on Wednesday, June 1st with over 100 people attending the event. The Launch Party was the third of multiple events being held across the region this season.

The event was open to the public and featured a welcome reception, a tour of one of the new aircraft, and a “meet- and-greet” with Southern pilots, staff, and executives. A brief press conference announcing the new branding, and the new summer schedule, was followed by a ribbon- cutting ceremony. Live entertainment was provided by Mitch Littler and The SouthSide String Kings.

“Southern Airways will be the exclusive airline for scheduled passenger flights to and from Lancaster Airport. Our area's economy will benefit from the quality and resources that South- ern brings to Lancaster. We are honored to be a part of these positive developments,” said David Eberly, Airport Director of Lancaster Airport.

Southern plans to continue to provide daily service to both and Washington-Dulles International Airports. Sun Air had been flying three flights per day from Lancaster to Pitts- burgh, and two flights per day from Lancaster to Washington- Dulles, where passengers can connect to worldwide destina- tions on multiple air carriers. In addition to Lancaster, Sun pro- vided, and Southern will continue to provide, service to the communities of Altoona, Bradford, and Franklin, as well as Hagerstown, , and Jamestown, . Similar rebranding ceremonies will take place in Bradford on June 14th and Altoona on June 28th.
