Location: 652 Bloomfield Ave, Verona Details: Bagelwich’s Verona location has been in existence since 1982, and remains a local favorite almost 40 years later. But it’s not just bagels here, you can enjoy breakfast burritos, paninis, and subs, too. There’s also a second location in West Caldwell if that’s more convenient for you. Fresco’s Bagels

Location: 57 NJ-23 South, Pequannock Details: Fresco’s Bagels are rolled and baked daily, and you can tell! The end results are breakfast sandwiches you’ll go to bed dreaming about. For instance, the bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel is a fan favorite. Another standout is the French toast bagel dusted with powdered sugar. Location: 935 Kinderkamack Rd, River Edge Details: Kinderkamack Hot Bagels is a true hole-in-the-wall, only visible to those who know where to look. They have barely any presence online or on social media. But what they do have is a long line out the door every morning on weekends. Lifelong customers swear by these bagels, which are always warm and soft. The croissants aren’t bad, either! Muheisen’s Bagel & Deli

Location: 29 NJ-31 South, Washington Details: A firm, slightly crunchy outside with a doughy inside makes Muheisen’s the perfect bagel. You’ll also find generous portions and delicious breakfast sandwiches, like the pork roll, egg, and cheese. In fact, NJ native and famous pop singer Halsey wrote on Instagram that she would “sacrifice my kin for a Muheisen’s French toast bagel.” Why I like it: Muheisen’s is also a great spot for muffins, cookies, and other pastries. Location: 680 Speedwell Ave, Morris Plains Details: Let’s be honest, when isn’t it time for a bagel? At Time for a Bagel, you’ll find hand- rolled, perfectly baked dough. In particular, we like the Everything Flagel, a flat bagel with the classic everything bagel spice on top. However, don’t be afraid to try one of their “Deliciously Different” flavors, such as Sundried Tomato or Black Russian. Why I like it: Mini plain bagels are always available. Bagel Bazaar Deli and Grill

Location: 6101 Black Horse Pike, Egg Harbor Township Details: Yes, this bagel shop is inside a gas station, but don’t let that fool you. Bagel Bazaar is a fast-growing set of bagel shops all in New (primarily central) Jersey. Customers rave about the friendly service and filling breakfast sandwiches, in addition to their many assorted spreads. It also doesn’t hurt that you can fill up your tank on the way to the beach! Location: 1815 Long Beach Blvd, Ship Bottom Details: Bageleddi’s has been family-owned and operated on Long Beach Island since 1984. They do not skimp on the fillings here, so make sure you’re hungry. For something different, try the bagel burger; it’s a cheeseburger and pork roll topped with an over- easy egg on your choice of bagel. It will definitely fill you up. Location: 661 Broad St, Shrewsbury Details: The bagels here are soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. That’s because they hand roll and kettle boil each of the doughs they bake fresh daily. Location: 4600 Atlantic Ave, Wildwood Details: Fans go wild for Bagel Time’s bagel sandwich with egg whites, avocado, and roasted peppers! But other worthwhile highlights on the menu include the chocolate chip bagel, asiago bagel, and the Nova Bowl. You can find Bagel Time at their three locations in Wildwood, Cape May, and Wildwood Crest. Why I like it: That Nova Bowl we mentioned? Broadway Giant Bagel Company

Location: 2119 Whitesville Road, Toms River Details: We love how this store is open bright and early. You can stop in to Broadway Giant Bagels Monday through Friday as early as 5:30 am! (Or 6:00 am on Saturday and 7:00 am on Sunday.) The store is known for its “Heart Attack Sandwich” which is no joke; packed with bacon, , pork roll, deli ham, cheese, and egg on a bagel or roll.
