TENTERDEN LEISURE CENTRE TRUST BURSARY For talented young sports people
PURPOSE
Tenterden Leisure Centre Trust Bursary is a scheme of which provides funding for talented young sports people to contribute to the costs associated with their chosen sport.
ELIGIBILITY
• Have the potential to be selected for the county, region or national team in their sport. • Live in or attend school in the following areas: Tenterden, St.Michaels, Smallhythe, Appledore, Bethersden, Biddenden, Bilsington, Egerton, High Halden, Kenardington, Little Chart, Newenden, Orlestone, Pluckley, Rolvenden, Rolvenden Layne, Ruckinge, Shadoxhurst, Woodchurch, Smarden, Stone, Warehorne, Wittersham. • In full time education or under the age of 21. • Supply details of their sporting achievements to date together with supporting documents. • Provide details of any financial support currently provided or potentially available from other sources including Ashford Leisure Centre Trust. • Must use Tenterden Leisure Centre facilities on a regular basis.
Bursaries will be awarded depending upon how closely the applicant matches the criteria. The size of any award will vary depending upon what level of support is required and will normally be for a year. Repeat awards can be made in subsequent years providing sporting progress has been made and the Trustees have been kept up to date.
If successful, the Trust asks to be kept updated with any progress and the applicant should be prepared to represent the Trust from time to time.
The Trustee’s judgement will be final in the decision of who receives a bursary award.
The interviews for the bursary are annually, usually awarded in September
