Property Taxable Values would increase by 8.49% Property Tax Rate would remains at 80.3¢ per $100 of value Building Permit activity will continue increase Sales Tax will increase 3.1% Merit increases Fire & Police Department Step Pay increases are included per the Meet and Confer agreement Premiums for Health Insurance increased by 15.1% Sales Taxes Current year collections are on pace for a gain of at least 4.1%. We are budgeting for an increase of 3.1% next year, which is about the same as the last three years. With several new restaurants opening in the area, Fox Fuel station, and mul- tiple housing starts in the area this should be attainable. Plus, a specialized audit firm is currently looking at the State collection records to see if any of our businesses have accidentally been paying OUR sales tax to the Cities of Mesquite or Dallas. We should be able to recoup a few years past taxes if any are found.

Utility Rates are left unchanged in this proposed budget. We are proposing a utility rate study this year which will be performed by DESIGN LOGO BEAUTIFUL NEW KEEP BALCH SPRINGS NEW KEEP BALCH an outside independent agency. The budget can be amended if
